i dont actually think this scenario is out of the question... not sure hwo it would play out with their staff..

oh cumon the phantom baton is kewl.. simply casue its phantom..... and i have often said the kiltie drummajor could pull one out from under his kilt... tho everyone seems to think that thats just wrong. sigh

somthing i discussed with an associate once.. woodwinds can replace a pit , if you have enough of them. thats teh secret to some of the better college marching bands who have smallish pits ( illinois state inteh 90's comes to mind) in the end tho .. woodwinds, without amplification do not have the projection to really make it overly practical..

i still see alot of movment potential from 9 to 15 or so..... could suprise everyone...

really good suggestions here...both actually generally dont mind showing a bit of love that way... aside from cascades who else is left out of housing in this?

thats what i thought... maybe try the local colleges?.. or rent some tents, and go with local camp grounds.. heck if you can get all the displaced corps together.. that could be a #### of alot of fun..

Its gonna happen for us Bill.. really it is... they ahve definately hit a few blocks in the road that have slowed them down a bit.. they would anyone.. but they are overcoming them every day... and that jump is in their sights.

I have seen alot of reed comments.. but in all honesty, i find the idea of a woodwind as a solo instrument ( like somone puts down their mello for a sax solo in a tune becasue its just appropriate to the song, in the pit, not marching around) as not too bad.. and better than the micced vocals..... maybe its my New Orleans Brass band background... but really there is a diffrence between, or should be , Marching band , and drumcorps.. .. and its never somthing i think shoudl be the standard... an ocassional thing for flavor possibly... like the vocals.. ( tho vocals like the cavies do, unmicced, and unison .. those are definately kinda kewl.. ) in the end.. i guess i like acoustic a bit better.. unplugged and all that. ok now im rambling so ill stop... im gonna remain a fan of the activity whatever form it decides to take, cause it opens up musical performanc and such oppurtunities to the kids, and with seinors adlts, that are not always available. heck i would like to see the nubers of corps, in all divisions expand... more local corps... ok done rambling incoherently now.

Who is in charge of findign housing for a show like this..the corps, or the hosting orginization.?

Becasue wehn i was young enough to march in DCI , i only barley knew about t, and worked every summer to support my college habit... its a way to keep playing, playing for me, and playing for the fans..

that night is the actual 70th anniversarary of the first time the original Kilties took the field.. I hope we do that group ,which led to the formng of our seinor Kilties , proud in syracuse . WWBD

Oh cumon .. this would be great.... there are so many twists you could give this.. or some water themed shows would be marvelous.... you get somone who can do some sort of trick spitting,a nd do like a human foutian rather than a lounge singer... and you could give the fans water baloons... to throw if they dont like the show.. Fan Interaction!!!! cumon these are great ideas.

oh totally....if somone wanted to spoof on cadets.. they could have an alice character .. and give hre a beat down, but the guard.. and have the hornline all empty their spitvalves on her during the drumbreak.. great rivalry material...

Pretty bad ###... yer designs are tight man... you shoudl look into a future in this. I like the glassmen sort of stained glass ont eh lining thing.. very kewl.

Ok.. im having a new vision... inspired byt the capes thread actually.. totally a cadets thing, with all thrie use of props... everyone could save their spit through a good part of the show, and then quickly in turn use it wot wetten a series of slip and slides..which could be spread out to oh say 10 feet before the front slidelines.. and then the corps could all slide across.. , while playing... to jump uo at the end for a massive company front moment. or have the door open to a waterslide?? that owuld totally gain the youth fanbase... all kids like slides, and water slides even more.. so many possibilitites... Hoppy.. you taking notes here?

Oh yeah.. Definately those two would be thei first.. the Cavies drill would just be unreal.. and imagine the dorr opening and the whole cadets corps flying through at full speed , swarming through even to come to a company front like 20 ft off the ground, and just blowing faces off.. wow now im picturing it combined with old school Scouts, and getting goosebumps.

oooo even a better point... WOW that would be #### kewl... hmm im pondering jet packs.. but we couldnt use either with the kilties.. cant have those kilts coming up too high.

Hmm it would keep folks from being out of step... could make for interesting drill..
