  1. Thanks Jim. Prayers seem to be working. Not a step backward yet. Made the sign of the cross so many times I think I have it on speed-dial (so to speak).
  2. Many thanks for the prayers. Early stress test report very positive. Don't have the complete report yet but things look very encouraging.
  3. Thanks Mikey. She's having a nuclear stress test today. And one more positive....they don't believe, at least at this point, a skilled nursing facility is necessary. They seem to think inpatient rehab is the route to go. Many thanks again.
  4. Been kind of vague about Patty's situation but to make a long story short....again....your prayers have been heard. Just to fill you in....she had 5 strokes on her right side and one on her left side. When I was there saturday they moved her from CICU to a step down unit. She was still moving forward sunday afternoo. One of our daughters who lives in the Pittsburgh area (Carneige to be specific) told me just moments ago they had her on her feet. Don't know if it was the Cab's CD or Steel City's. BUT....she's up. Don't stop the prayers cause, as good as they are, don't think it was the CD's. ( but then.......
  5. Patty continues to improve. Nary a step backwards. Everything moving forward almost exponentially.(or so it seems) Very optomistic. Many thanks for your Prayers.
  6. Shako's Off (hat's as it were) to you Tom. What a great thing to see by a person such as yourself to come into this area and basically take charge and promote Drum Corps'. Havening known you...performed next to you...I know it's not for personal gain. Gotta respect that. Sorry I can't be beside you at this particular time but know this....our city, county, and most of all the Drum Corps' community applaudes your efforts. Till we play together again....
  7. Thanks Ray. Not really sure we've ever met except here on DCP. Found a CD the other day I had been looking for. Purchased the LP years ago. Kenny Rogers (arrainger Lionel Richie) a song called "Lady". If you love your wife as much as I love mine....find it ...buy it..... Thank you all again so much.
  8. Understand more than ever now. Many thanks.
  9. Many thanks Jim and again to Glenn. Had a really nice email from Fran Herring too. Never thought I would be in this situation but more than ever I can really appeciate what you went through and probably continue to go through. Patty continues to improve even through a miriade of what I call a sequence of mis-diagnosis' ranging from pnemonia, to pulmonary hipertennsion, to heart problems, to dyalisis, to being a candidate and sent to Pittsburgh for a liver transplant. Sorry if I go on an on. There's more but, thank you all so much for your thoughts, prayers.
  10. Many thanks Glenn. She continues to improve albeit slow but, improvement non the less.
  11. Not sure this is appropriate but I need to thank the entire Drum Corps' community for the outpouring of concern and prayers for my wife Patricia (a.k.a. "WMOM" official videographer of the Erie Thunderbirds and Drum Corps' fanatic). Without going into specifics suffice to say, given her current situation, is improving. Prayer is a very powerfull thing. No....I'm not a religeous fanatic....not even a particularly good practicing Catholic. But....something good is happening here and just want to toss out a simple "Thank You".
  12. Many thanks to Sean and Gary for their comments. They know me well. (again....it's an OCD Thingee).
  13. AGREE...but, here we go again. Bugles vs Trumpets vs Key. Who cares? I like "G" because of the conical shape of the horn and the sound and coverage it produces out of doors. Sure...it doesen't slot perfect but, to me Bb is a crutch for slotting. Nothing beats a challange like a good ear. DONE. The End.
  14. I guess it's that time for me. I am the original owner of this horn. s/n 32476. Has only been either in my hands or in the case. Never on the ground or even on a horn stand. Touched only by me and with gloves. (it's an OCD thingee) Autographed with my name and Erie Thunderbirds. Asking $810.00 plus shipping. No dents, dings, polishing swirls. Thanks for reading.
  15. The GIANTS have a Drum Corps'..?? Who knew.
  16. I have for sale (original owner) a Pre-Umi King Silver Flair Bb trumpet made in Eastlake, Ohio S/N 667623 circa 1970's. This sale will include: Original case, the trumpet (well duh) Cup mute, Straight mute, Bucket mute, solo-tone mute, harmon mute, plumbers (wa-wa) mute and Hamelten horn stand. No scratchs, dings,...pretty much perfect. Asking $1,200. plus shipping but will consider offers. Also have a Rudy Muck 27C if interested. Really hate to sell this horn but, considering the Horn talent in Erie....well.. you get..right?
  17. True Keith. Should they decide to do excerpts (hopefully) from the "King of Fa" there's no telling where it may lead. Just sayin.......
  18. Nice post today on Face Book by Drum Corps' World regarding Bonnie Ott. Deservedly so. My question: How does one learn how to do Lip Trills? What is the practice regumine. Been playing a horn since 1954 (trumpet, Mellophone, blah, blah, Blah,) but never asked till now. Is it a gift...? A certain tecnique...? What..? I'm 68 years old now so I'd like to learn this ONE thing while I have the time. Thanks.
  19. Though small in size for attendance (maybe 5,000) and parking is a problem I have to say that Erie Veteran's Stadium may be be one of the best as far as accoustics and field to crowd relationship. Just sayin.......
  20. "All Estefan" the music of Miami sound machine "Statesmen Style" of course. (would fit the Cabs perfectly too.) Feel the Rythem of the Beat??
  21. Thank you for saying what you said. In 2006 during Ernesto was the first and only performance of the Erie Thunderbirds at the Alumni show. We were the first on and thankfully the die-hard fans were there. We were very proud to be a part of this show (with 56 horns) and we thought we had a "Kick-###" performance. Until this year I have never missed an Alumni show (health situation) and I thank you again for your comments.
  22. But then...........if it were just Drums and Bugles....
