  1. Is the show tonight on a converted baseball diamond?
  2. I hear that a LOT in reference to ANY corps that comes out strong in June - "hope they don't peak too early". I hope they peak and STAY there for the last 5 weeks of the season. Max out every show and win DCI with a 100.05 there i said it. I know that 07 was disappointing at the end but it's still one of the Bluecoats best remembered seasons- NOT because they "peaked at Quarters" but because they were incredible all summer. I am certain that the staff and mgmt LEARNED something from that summer and has planned every detail of this season to maximize the talent of THIS corps membership. Looks to me like all guns are firing this time. Brass and perc are clearly in contention and apparently so is the guard! The drill impresses me the most. They are MARCHING and PLAYING - not too much sauntering, scampering and running to sets. It evolves logically and stages the musical production the way drills are SUPPOSED to! It's an exciting show! How about THAT?! Best drill the Bluecoats have EVER had and could be the best visual package of the season when it's done - mirrors included. Congrats to Tim and the visual staff!
  3. Good weather = good rehearsals today - GREAT shows tonight! I predict: 81.1 Bluecoats 78.5 Boston 78.2 Phantom 70.0 Spirit 69.0 Crossmen 65.0 Jersey Surf Bluecoats win all captions (including drums again) tonight and recovers from a .7 drop in GE Vis last night.
  4. Bluecoats and Regiment could go back and forth all season in drums. You can blame it on drill or whatever you want - they are both VERY good percussion lines and luckily they get to compete head to head for the next few weeks. right? Enjoy it! This is what we wait all Fall, Winter and Spring for. I'm really proud of them! GO BLOOOOOO!
  5. i just got a text - unconfirmed - Bluecoats won drums.
  6. I'd be very interested to hear his impressions afterward. 25 years since his last drum corps show? That would be 1985!!! Things have changed a little.
  7. That's right. This is exactly why I think that tonight is really important/interesting. Without Cadets there it should be a great back to back comparison for these two AMAZING drum corps. Still not a full panel though - right? Good luck to everyone! Especially the judges - it should be tough.
  8. Please note - at the start of the show there are currently 68 users following this thread. How many will be following by scores-time? BTW - GREAT seats dude! Thanks for the updates tonight - enjoy the show!!! BLOO 'til you're blue!
  9. mmmmkay... i'll stick around. Is anyone reporting from the show?
  10. Should we expect scores sometime around 10pm pacific time? That would be around midnight central time - right?? Sorry - I'm chronologically challenged.
  11. I've watched some videos on the Fan Network and there are a couple of brass lines out there that SOUND like they've already started using them...
  12. Just got a call from stepdaughter (Bluecoats mello ageout) and she says they are hyping out right now. Really excited. I'm so excited for them! Keep it up BLOOOOOOOOO!
  13. Nice number BLOOOOO! Let's break 80 by July!!!
  14. Scores are up. 1 Bluecoats 78.000 2 Phantom 76.700 3 Glassmen 71.900 4 Crossmen 68.000 5 Teal Sound 63.700 6 Pioneer 61.200
  15. Thanks for the play by play... can't stick around to give us scores?
  16. ..an actual bari/trumpet duet is a cool effect too. right?
  17. INT looks clean as usual. Four weeks of spring training really helped them.
  18. Why would they NOT post recaps? Blasphemy!!!
  19. Just watched all the Louisville/Ft. Mill shows on FN. WOW! Some really great drum corps this summer. My favorites (opinions) so far: Madisons first minute. I'll bet they have better plans for the ending too. Crowns brass line - this will be hard to beat. Drill has it's moments too - seems unfinished somehow. Cavaliers - I love the ALL rifle section. I don't understand the "Smile" ballad though. Seems totally out of character for the show - maybe that's the point... Cadets - They look great already! Also tough to beat - especially when they add a better ending. The drill is mind boggling at times. Regiment - This drum line and Bluecoats could be #1 and 2 in August. Much more appealing musical book than last year. Bluecoats - This show could medal. Really aggressive musical AND visual book (except the ending) and i LOVE the ballad. Beutifully played and staged. Still not sure if there's a "story line" to this program but I don't care. It's fun. Everyone in general: 1. Looks like longer move-ins are preparing each corps a bit more. 2. It seems like "first tour" endings are standard. NONE of the endings can be permanent. Almost everyone has a lame ending. 3. Lots of dirty feet and at least one hole in every show - some had 4 or 5!!! Have a great summer - and get the FN if you don't have it.
  20. OK - so i broke down and signed up for Fan Network... just watched Louisville and REALLY dig the show. It'll be interesting to see what changes lie ahead but overall the corps is off to maybe the best start ever. Drum line looks on track to be a contender - same with brass - and the guard book may be the best written program the corps has ever had. Max it out Bluecoats. Eat healthy, get rest, don't get hurt and rehearse like a machine. I'm stoked. Six Words.
  21. I just checked out some Bluecoats on the same unnamed site. Great stuff by both of those drum lines this summer.
  22. BLOOOOOOOOOOooooooo! What a big night for the Bluecoats! This could be a FUN season!!!
