  1. Becky got married, thus the change in last name. The change in first name was an error by DCI in their reporting of the Soundsport competition. We have incessantly teased "Vicky" about her first name change since the DCI error.
  2. http://store.creativevideostore.com/starofindiana.html Choose the 1991 video.
  3. Who ever said we don't wish for the corps to still be around? All that bullethead said was he has "no regrets" the corps no longer exists as a junior corps. Count me in as one who definitely wishes (upon a Star) that the corps was still competing! :)
  4. I'm not going to ruin the surprise, but its a unique "take" on the traditional alumni corps performance. Cue cold chills!
  5. Hi All: I have 2 tickets in 638, row 9 for finals on Saturday and am looking to hopefully move down. If anyone is wanting to move up, I'd be willing to swap your tickets for my tickets plus some cash. I really want to stay within sections x38 and x42 (eg, 138, 238, 338, etc). Please contact me if interested. Thanks!
  6. It's a classic story that I've heard many times from a handful of people who were there, and it's told the exact same way regardless of who tells it. The next time you're in Bloomington, I'll find someone who was there that day to tell you the story, because I can't do it justice....
  7. That wasn't the day the brakes failed and he jetted out across Curry Pike at rushhour, was it?
  8. Thanks for posting this - it was definitely surreal seeing the audience rise to its feet before intermission!! We were prepped before the concert by the Canadian Brass telling us that New York audiences are generally quite fickle and to not expect overwhelming reaction.... I'm glad they were wrong.... :) Rob
  9. Actually, Bill Cook owns the name "Star of Indiana. When Bill decided to end his involvement with Blast, Jim Mason assumed the IP rights and assets of Blast and Bill assumed the IP rights and assets of Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps. I believe Bill also owns the rights to Brass Theater, but am not 100% sure. Rob
  10. Another thing to see/do while you are in the area is Bill Cook's current project, the restoration of two turn-of-the-century hotels in southern Indiana. French Lick is about an hour drive south of Bloomington, but well worth the drive. The hotels are INCREDIBLE pieces of history, and there's a brand new casino down there to lose few dollars at. The hotels used to be the playground of the rich and famous (including Al Capone) up until the stock market crash of 1929... Rob
  11. Yes, Bloomington is large enough for commercial jets. I've taken off and landed there on a 727. Unfortunately, we no longer have commercial service to Bloomington - its just short enough to drive up to the Indy airport (less than an hour drive) for the airlines to make any money flying into Bloomington.
  12. Hi All: I feel compelled to add my 2 cents here. First of all, thanks for the kind words about Star United - we are honored to be accepted with open arms in our debut to DCA competition! Everyone that I talked to in Rochester was incredibly kind and complementary to us and our show - I wasn't quite prepared for the overwhelming response that we were given. For that, THANK YOU!!! To the Renegades, thanks for being such an awesome audience on Friday afternoon - you have no idea how nervous we were to perform our show for you. I'm glad we had the opportunity to see your run-through, the show looked incredibly fun to perform. Your soloists are insane!!! Awesome!! My best, Rob
