  5. (:-D ...I don't know, but judging from the Kilts mello lines, especially this coming seasons', collectively and individually...there's a lot of power packed there....I had the wonderful occassion of marching a couple rows ahead of them in todays' Racine Memorial Day parade and walked away with less flesh onthe back of my neck, and not to mention less hair (all 3) Bill Kilts
  6. Well, I'm very happy with my DEG "G" Soprano amplifier...I bought it in "98".....I felt a little too much resistance for my taste when I first purchased the DEG...so I contacted them, and they sent me a different soprano with the new lead pipe that is now on the "tune any note" DEG, they were just developing it at that time, it eliminated a lot of the resistance which was caused by the "gap"...it's held up great, fast action on the valves, and the service offered by DEG, is nothing short of "outstanding"...yeah, I've played Kanstul...the standard and the "Powerbore"..for me the DEG is a better instrument.... 10. In looking over the reviews of the Madison Open House, some things were mentioned about the corps size of the Pioneer. I think it is very important to remember one thing that may be causing several smaller corps this coming season is the economic downturn following the 9/11 tragedy. Being a member of the Kilties, I can tell you certain areas of our country have been hit hard. The greater Racine area, as example, has the 2nd highest unemployment in the state of Wisconsin, only being out-shadowed by the Beloit, Wisconsin area, and Beloit considered actually disbanding the city as an enity to be absorbed by surrounding towns. I know for a fact some of our Kiltie brothers and sisters are unable to do our competition corps this coming season because of the bad economy and high unemployment in the Greater Racine area. Their own well-being must come first, and the well-being of their loved ones if that's the case. So when looking at the size of, let's say, the Pioneer, look at the possible outside occurances that may make it impossible for some members to participate. There are some areas of our country that are hurting, and hurting badly. Bill Kilties
  11. The Kilties have several lower brass spots yet to be filled. We also have some spots open in our battery and color guard. Plus we are looking for 1 more conductor/DM. Of course, membership will be accepted in other sections also. This is a great chance to become a part of a great organization! Check out the Kilties website (kilties.com) for any details, or call the Kiltie Hotline at 1-262-623-2100. :D
  12. Well, just follow some guidelines suggested by Ken Norman....wrap some solder around the mouthpiece shank or add some small hose clamps to the shank...also strap your metal watch and watchband on the valve cluster...also put some coins (denomination depends on horn) in you bottom valve caps..... Bill The Kilts 8^)
  13. Good luck to ALL of our friends performing at WGI!! ## The Kilties ## Visit our website at kilties.com :)
