fannies in the seats happens when a) the economy is better, and 2) long time fans start to trickle back in...with music budgets being cut at schools daily, we wont have much of a following there much longer. and Mike...if DCi ignores sponsors, then they only have themselves to blame.

well Mike, I've seen band staffs dressed to the 9s or in matching purple and gold sweat suits that their band rocked as well. look...DCI is trying to create more of an image to attract sponsors. While maybe music manufacturers may be ok with it, maybe companies like Nike, Under Armour etc may not be. So, maybe, settling for however they look may be good to some, it may be hurting DCI in the eyes of others...like those willing to fork out bucks. is that shooting for excellence?

Tom do you follow football? they do things in a similar fashion. Sure the whole defense may break down film together withthe defensive coordinator. But then the linemen go to their meeting, the linebacks to theirs, the backfield to theirs, each with their respective coaches and break down things more specific to their units. It's in this fashion that DCI corps do it also, which I think is fabulous. kids get the big picture, but yet get what pertains to just their section.

no you didnt chuck DCI staff under the bus. I never once said you did. However, you mocked the conversation I had, that was very real by doing your own "research". I did however refer to many remarks made aroun me at local shows and regionals as well about staff attire. the comments were made about corps of all claiber, big and tall, blue and maroon, red and green, and every other shade in the DCI universe, which isn't much since most wear black pants.
