well that's not been universally agreed upon

ir could be a combination of things. as junior corps grew across the country, a lot of kids just never had the option to do senior corps as we were all mostly here in the northeast. but in the 80's it when it started to slide, and it went bad from both directions. yes, kids did burn out. DCI progressed in terms of show design faster than DCA did,and of course the old stereotype about drunks stumbling around the field persisted. regardless of what caused it, the good news is it's getting better

i agree, respect goes both ways, and in some cases doesnt. however, i truly hate when people are criticizing design and get attacked for trashing kids.

i wasnt really talking technique for the visual, i was thinking design. Cavies pakcage was incredibly integrated and was seemless in how it flowed with the music. but their drumline couldn't play 8th notes clean at finals. Cadets seemed to have the guard as an afterthought visually, but that drumline played incredibly well...much better than they sang
