  1. No, we're all one big happy family!
  2. Wow!! (I guess that's been said already)
  3. Now that the performances are over (didn't want to interrupt), since everyone pointed out where they were in this picture I might as well. I'm the guy in the row just below the color guard on the extreme right (as you are looking at it).
  4. Right after DCI prelims, 1979 Birmingham. We all look like we;ve been through the wringer! It was HOT that day!

  11. It might mean a lot if one was a tennis player.
  12. They are one of the greatest corps in the history of corpsdom! Read about them here.
  13. I was thinking hard about why no one ever actually hears the INT horn line. Because they have to cover so many shows, INT has a huge membership. This causes a problem with supplying that many horns, and unfortunately no one manufacturer can handle it. What probably happened is that half of the horns they were able to get are 180 degrees out of phase with the other half. Acoustical physics, unfortunately, comes into play here. No matter how hard and loud they play, the horns will cancel out each others sound waves. I'm willing to bet that if they get a matching set, they would be TWICE as loud as '80 Spirit!

  15. Yeah, but do you have a review of the show they put on, this being the review forum after all....
  16. I tried to stay out of this, but I couldn't any longer. As you can see from my signature, I marched with the Stars back in the "Open Class" days. I got upset over changes that happened over the course of the years; 2 to 3 valves, grounded pits, vocalizations allowed on the field, G to Bb, amps, etc., but I eventually came to realize that like all things, the activity has to evolve. The spirit of drum corps today is every bit as strong as when I marched, only different. I look at the uniform changes the same way. The distinctive Blue Star look was "killer" back in the day, but things have moved on since then. What worked then no longer has the same effect today, and changes needed to be made. I admit that I was upset earlier today, but after thinking about it, I believe that the correct choice was made. The Blue Stars needed this change to match the types of shows they will need to perform, this year and coming years, to be competitive. It took a lot of guts to make this change by the administration, as the Blue Stars have one of the most "enthusiastic" groups of alumni I have ever seen in any organization. I think the change will pay off in the end. FCO!
  17. I am not looking at the feed. Is INT doing the encore this afternoon?
  18. Apparently you were not around in the 70's when they never missed a DCI finals.
  19. I can't take credit for that one. I got it from the INT discussion topic. GO INT!!! (and Blue Stars, of course!)
