  1. The Freelancers Alumni and friends are looking for a couple of bass drummers. The Corps will be doing two performances this summer at local nor-cal shows. For more information you can go to freelancers.org or contact me at bighud1@aol.com
  2. The San Francisco Renegades are looking for a snare drummer or two. My name is Dan Hudson and I am the snare tech. I have taught not only the Renegades but RCR, The Freelancers D&B corps as well as being the co-founder and tech for the Freelancer winter line. Our snare line is full of guys and gals from The Blue Devils, SCV, The Freelancers winter and corps,The Mandarins, Valley Feaver, Phantom Regiment, V.K. and The Kingsmen. This is a great chance to march with some of the best drummers in the area who have a lot of knowledge to pass on.Our open house is this weekend so check out our web site at renegades.org I hope to hear from some of you great guys and gals that want to march one more time or don't have the time or money to march in a Jr. Corps and still want to enjoy drumming at a very high level. Thanks, Dan P.S. all drumers from other sections are welcome as well

  4. The horn line is not filled, check them out on Tuesday nights at the hall.
  5. One of the main reasons a player can not play rolls very quick is because the left hand is weaker than the right and can't keep up. Playing all your roll exercises to the met starting left hand lead will help solve this problem. Instead of following the right hand, the left will now be leading and pushing to stay in time.
  6. I saw the overall and guard predictions, what about the other captions?Anyone have any thoughts?
  7. It was by far the best snare drum I ever played on. The rest of the stuff was crap. Not to mention it was the lightest drum I ever carried. In 1990 we had both snares on the drum and it sounded sweet.
  8. I don't know if the Renegades are even going to make finals. I read on their web site that they are trying to use Blue Devil C kids.
  9. The problem is that most of the tenor players around here marched with SCV or BD and as good as we are, most of them think that Senior Corps is a joke.I t is very hard to get those great west coast drummers to buy in to this.On the other hand, the tenor player that wants a job to move out here, I am a Area Manager for a large restaurant chain, send me a audition video and you can have a job at one of my nine restaurants
  10. We are going to have another snare sectional on Sunday from 10-1 if anyone would like to come check us out. We will be at Granite Bay High School. The line is filling up quick so if you want a spot stop on by.
  11. The snare drummer from the Freelancers who was the Rollins band drummer is now a member of the blue man group in Vegas. His name is Jason Mackenroth and you can look him up on the vic firth web site.He also marched 05 and 06 in The River City Regiment.
  12. Just a little reminder to anyone that might want to come out and drum Sunday at Granite Bay High School from 10-2. We will have a very special guest drummer hanging out for the day. The great 05 and 06 RCR snare drummer Jason Mackenroth is in town this weekend.Besides being in the great RCR snare line he has done a couple other little things like being the drummer for the Rollins band and is now a member of the Las Vegas Blue Man Group.
  13. I don't know if Jerry is going to be able to march, I think I saw his name on THE MITCHELL REPORT.
  14. We will only have 4 snare drums there so bring one if you have one.
  15. If anyone lives in the Sac. area, we are thinking about having a snare and tenor sectional on Sunday the 16th from 10-2 at Granite Bay High School. If you would like more info you can contact me at bighud1@aol.com Thanks, Dan
  16. Yes I do Rich! Anyway, the drum line will be bigger and better this year. Most of the line will be coming back from last year and we want to add a few more players to fill it up. We are looking for one tenor player that can hang with two guys that marched in a top 12 tenor line for 5 years and a couple of center snares from the 87,88,91 Freelancers. I would also like to double the size of our pit. If you want more info, check out the web site or e-mail me at Bighud1@aol.com
  17. No Lance, you're thinking about 1987 when the troopers drum major shot our top bass drummer Craig and we had to fly in his twin brother to finish the season.
  18. Let's see If I can remember. We had been beating another Corps by almost 15 points when all of a sudden we dropped 7.5 and they jumped up 7.5 to beat us.John Rochon and I,along with Chad, decided we needed to do something about it. It was one of those new kind of retreats were you just troop the stands and play a little tune. When we got in front of the crowd, we stopped, closed our flaps and turned to the crowd and just did a very nice park and blow. When the show sponser handed Chad the plaque, he threw it on the ground where a horn player chopped it in half with the battle axe and gave it back to them. The crowd went wild and DCI had a fit. We ended up getting fined a couple of grand for that. Some people think that's why we didn't make finals that year but DCI had already sent a clear message with the scores.F em if they can't take a joke. ^0^
  19. BUS SURFING b**bs "now you see it, now you don't"
  20. Jerry is fine. He sent me a text message at 4 in the morning on Sunday. He got called into work Saturday and there was no way to get out of it.
  21. That was very nice kelli, they are working very hard this year and Vince is great. Lisa, I have not met you and please take this as a joke. What was the voice mail like tonight? ^0^ Once again this is only a joke.
  22. Thanks Lee, and Glenn I'm not kidding. It seems like you have played everything else now it's time to see how the other half lives. After all, THE BEST REASON TO PLAY DRUMS..............................................................WOMEN! b**bs
  23. Do it Glenn, maybe you can fill that 8th snare spot ^0^
