  1. Is it me or do they sound very BD? What a beautiful and balanced sound and the percussion is smokin!
  2. Logical and most readable of the drill of the night so far. Great build to first musical impact. Handling all musical impacts with power. Good field coverage for softer moment in second number. Closer was smokin at the end w/ sop solo, company front into a partial flear de lis? and typical blow your face off sustained ending. Crowd went berserk! WOW! That was HOT!!
  3. Had wireless network problems and missed opener and part of the middle but what I heard was amazing. Definitely challenging drill and WOW, they were loud. Nice crowd reaction. They will be kicking and scratching for a Finals spot! Good luck Colts!
  4. Still jumpy but the Stream Guy did say the "pipe" out of Columbia was smaller than Lisle. The sound is FANTASTIC, though.
  5. I agree. Blue Stars have a lush, delicious sound. And the intermingling of Simple Gifts with some great American anthems was well done... no cheese there. This is my first time viewing/hearing them and I am a definite fan. Great sound, even with the holes and didn't hate the singing... nice harmonies. Beta stream Guy said to close browser to stream for a few minutes so they can work on compression and quality.
  6. I agree... the vid quality was much smoother last week in Illinois. Maybe there will be adjustments made thru out the stream. And I love the sound of Brandt Crocker at a DCI show!!! Such a legend! (that was a very Oedipal typo... sorry :sshh: :sshh: )
  7. AND Brandt Krocker is the announcer! Memphis Sound on now... WITH DR. BEAT to start.
  8. Recaps are up: Cavies win all captions but Guard, Percussion, and Music GE. Bloo wins Colorguard Phantom wins Percussion by 0.1 over Bloo. Cavies 0.2 behind PR. PR won Music GE by 0.2 over Cavies.
  9. Kilties 52.85 Pioneer 50.70 Glassmen 67.3 PR 72.4 Bloo 72.7 Cavies 75.25
  10. Twas my understanding DCI judges received training on the DCA sheets for Sr. Corps at their annual judging seminar a few weeks back. Unclear whether or not they were utilized...

  12. Agreed. Was sitting in the endzone on side one during the majority of finals and noticed EXTREMELY loud chatter from behind me during several of the corps performance. Most of these folks were wearing corps-affiliated gear but one particular gentlemen was American Legion... practically yelling during Brigs performance. Asking for a little corps respect went with no response. Unbelievable.
  13. No kidding!! Filled up in Tampa at $2.59/gal Tuesday. Same station out of gasoline Wednesday and stated will be $3.38/gal Thursday. YOWZA, indeed. SEE YA IN SCRANTON!!!!!!!! b**bs b**bs b**bs b**bs
  14. Would love to see BD return to their championship roots with a show design consisting of a more full musical idea. These are some of their great numbers from the past. What would you like to see resurrected? I think they can win with Channel One Suite and Chick Corea . Done it before.
  15. Make each GE caption worth 15 points and 10 points for guard. Tics not necessary for guard as that is accounted for in build-up of the Excellence subcaption. However, positioning of the guard judge (original post) should remain in the seats... better for viewing the entire guard and technique errors are as obvious from higher up in terms of pitch, clarity (or lack thereof), body positioning, demand, and toss height.
  16. Dude, poor taste... <**> <**> <**> Congrats to The Cadets and all the corps for a fantastic year of drum corps.
  17. Citrus Park Mall Tampa Hope it's not sold out 'cause I ain't got no tix yet!! Have fun all!!
  18. Just curious since I know nothing about linear progression but inferring from the name, is a final score based on a mathematical trend, no? If that is the case, are not all the scores diluted compared to BD, their's being higher due to fewer variables in the equation, particularly lower scores related to their absence from US competitions early in the season when the scores were lower for all corps? Interesting from a purely "Geek" standpoint.
  19. I think your wife has excellent taste!! Seriously, had an amazing time both at LMS-S and performing before an appreciative, albeit wet, crowd. That place had great energy! BTW, thanks for the T-shirt Lee. Wore it home to Tampa. Was previously a huge fan of the 'Gades, but now I think I've turned fully to the dark side! Will wear my Renegod shirt to guard rehearsal tonite and channel the energy of Ron, Diane, Lisa, Ms. Kanika and the rest of the fab Reneguard. Thanks for blowing me away!! W-S ROCKS!!
