  2. One omission I have yet to see was the coverage of the Band Competitions that the Legion and VFW held during the pageant of Drums. I never saw them(for obvious reasons) but I was curious when the band competitions ceased. I am guessing the 60's. -Bill
  3. Thank Boston Crusaders for the Multi-Drums we use now. Its here to stay. I think it was '64 or '65 -Bill
  4. Schmidt would call me and play his horn with out the mouthpiece......I suffered through 2 years of that pschyo and finally told him I had Heart Surgery and to try using a mouthpiece. The pity was he lived two hours away. Mya he move again......farther away. -Bill
  5. Schmidt still was the Grand Prize Winner......I wonder if he got the donations for his motor home? -Bill
  6. The Arranger is also liable and responsible. The Fines are pretty stiff. -Bill

All new members are welcome and bring Mouthpieces or Sticks. Rheresals have been increased to twice a month. We are looking for some more Drummers. A Drum Major wil be chosen by April. Bil Clendenon
  10. Uhhhh........We have people........Thus two rehersals per month. (Locals BTW) -Bill
  11. We are starting two rehersals per month in January. Never hurts !!.....LOL -Bill
  12. The Presidents will also reherse Saturday Jan. 26th at the local VFW in Greeneville Tn from 12:00 PM until 2:30 PM. Everyone welcome. Bring Mouthpieces or Sticks. The VFW is located on Highway 11-E directly across from Wal-Mart. See you there. -Bill
  13. I was there but Presdrummer was not........In fact it was a chore getting the pasword for the website. We did not know he bolted. Again, he was not at the open house. We were pleased so thats all that matters. Presdrummer would not answer telephone calls when I happened to see it here. It would be more proper to change his screen name. -Bill
  14. Not being there I don't understand the observation..... -Bill
  15. ALL the Scores are done..........Per Dennis. -Bill
  16. Not the Marksmen.......They came much much later. I had many friends in that corps and visited them after the VFW Nats in 66 and 67. I remember them from 61 in Miami when I played Cymbals. They actually were not that old of a corps. Great people. -Bill
  17. Unfortunately the VFW Ditched all their info after DCI was formed. Total Tragedy. If memory serves me right , at that time period I "think" there was a corps from Memphis , and also there was a Band competition that went on into possibly the early 60's (I think). I know the High School Band from Elizabethton Tn was usually there (Thats how they migrated to the Presidents)......One of the Drummers turned out to be our Director in 1961. BTW Gary give me a shout , cause we have to see what "fixes" need to be done to the drums and carriers. -Bill
  18. This is sad.......I like Mike D very much , but I also am not a fan of narration. Frankly I think its here to stay. I can't see the BOD changing the use of electronics at all. My choice is to support DCA but I will still attend some DCI shows. I also sent in a "complaint" but it was stated in a civil manner. As said before , I enjoy talking to MikeD and I always will. -Bill
  19. Please note, I was not asking for members. I interjected a correction a member posted on here. I apologize for the misunderstanding. As stated previously the local area has plenty over the age of 18 and the plans are not to go outside the area to create a travel problem for others. I hope this clears up the comment I was advertisng for members. I WAS making a comment that we would like a Female guard instructor. Regards, -Bill
  20. Yeah , that guy dogged us for years , even after my surgery. Frankly after that I trust virtually no one on the net that brags on how good they are. -Bill
  21. Hey Dude.......That Quad By-Pass has heled quite good and we have help coming in. Its still gonna be local , and very hapy having all the equipment , uni's , etc. ......Take care and hopefully we will meet up. -Bill
  22. Its like a flavor of ice cream.......Some of us have preferences we like. Same as cars.......I Drive a Dodge. I noticed all the people reading my comment are male. Any way thanks for the well wishing. We're staying local anyway. A local base as we were years ago is stronger for community support. -Bill
  23. Why??.........Because I'm the Executive Director and I said so........Good enough reason. Thanks for asking. -Bill
