  1. Sorry, everyone did not fit into the picture. Great time! I hope we don't have to wait another 25 years to do it again! Russ
  2. At the Glassmen's show I talked to some people that want to join Empire Statesmen next season. Not too late for this year. We are rehearsing in Rochester this weekend. Go to www.statesmen.org to find the details and contact info. Russ
  3. <----Who is this guy? Glassmen were great hosts at the show! Turned out to be a great night for drumcorps.
  4. Bus is leaving Rochester at 9pm. New members should get on the bus or meet us in Ohio!
  5. Heading to Ohio tonight. Catch a sneak peak at the Empire Statesmen on Saturday at the DCI show!
  6. Just wanted to say that I thought the Alumni did a great job at rehearsal. There wasn't much time for current members to chat with Alumni but I had a chance to at least say hello to a few. Can't wait to see how many Alumni will be able to make it the 4th of July weekend! Even if you don't want to pick up an instrument you should attend and come down to the field and stand with us. It is going to be great! Russ
  7. While you are there you can buy a bear. Not a beer. A bear. See a current marching member to purchase a bear. Then you can go purchase a beer.
  8. Are you allowed to quote yourself??? I just got back home from rehearsal at Hobart College and figured I would post before my body seizes up. We saw a few more recent alumni at rehearsal and at the parade this weekend. One of them is back in the hornline!!! Russ
  9. It has been great meeting Empire Statesmen Alumni at the parades and rehearsals so far this season. This is my third year on contra with the Statesmen and it is nice to be able to faces to the stories I have heard about previous years of the corps. I am looking forward to meeting many more Alumni as July quickly approaches. Russ Braman ES Contra '06, '07, '08
  10. DCA Member Corps have a vote on how DCA is operated. I would like to see it arranged that an ambulance is onsite at all times and if that means having two there so that when one makes a run to the hospital there is still one there then that is what needs to be. You can not be prepared for every possible situation but I think this is something that we can be prepared for and we should be able to make this happen. As a side note: Corps have lost members over the years and some have lost members during the season but this is the first time I have heard of a corps losing a member during their show. It is definitely the first time I have witnessed the loss. My heart goes out to not only the Kilties on the field at the time but to the entire Kiltie family both past and present. I always knew the Kilties were a positive representation of what drum corps is and once again they prove it on and off the field. As assistant director of the LakeShoremen (Senior) Drum & Bugle Corps I know that corps need money to keep the organization moving forward. The Kilties have it available to donate to the corps using PayPal or Credit Card from their website at http://www.kilties.org/donate.html If each one of us donates whatever we can in memory and tribute of their fallen member it would show our support in a way that can make a difference with not only the Kilties but with the our entire drumcorps family.
