I am a brass and guard person, so admittedly know almost nothing about percussion. But, just wondering why Cadets percussion which was touted as being so talented before the season started is scoring poorly? Is there anything someone can point to? I have no issues with the brass placement and score tonight. They don't play most of the show and have other issues. The percussion perplexes me...

This!! On point as always Jwillis. Until there is a different approach to program coordination I don't see much changing. It will take a revamped design approach/perspective, and even then it is a slow upward climb back into the top 3 as you mention with SCV, and what Cavaliers have started to do the past 2 years. Unless.....GH somehow wins the lottery and the next Michael Gaines appears. I don't see much changing. They will certainly struggle with recruiting top level talent with the current trajectory.

Yep, I am ultra excited. It is really more like the normal Atlanta Regional this year.

Mastering this without people noticing is the true design victory in current DCI.

They are really really good, but the momentum dies about a third in, and they don't really get it back until the last 30 seconds.

Clean just unemotional.....I do love it though in a classic drum corps way.

Exactly - Do I LIKE a lot of the design choices Cadets and Phantom have made this year, NO. Is it hard for me to get into a show about Religion, YES. But I will support the effort of the kids. And highlight the positives that are out there. Hiding behind a computer screen spewing insults, real brave and mature.

I am refraining from comment the rest of the season after this, because honestly it is just too stressful. I will say that the comments on the show thread last night about Cadets were really disrespectful. It is not only Cadets, Phantom is a victim of this also. The kids that march do not deserve those type of comments.

No Glory Days again until a top shelf visual and guard staff are hired, and I dont see how that will happen...

It is sterile, but performed well, loud, and fast. I also search to find an emotional connection in their show. You arent the only one.... I think some of it is sentimentality.

Is the surprise that they turn the props around, LOL? Not really a surprise at this point. Hoping is it something different and more creative :)
