what is that?? what a corps did in a previos year has no bearing on the present year. maybe they changed their show, or had a big turnover or maybe they just didn't perform well the next year. just because a corps placed at a certain point one year has no bearing on the next.........that's why it's called a compitition.

that kind of thing with the judges has been going on since the beginning of drum corps. it will always be that way. the only way it will change is if god himself judged the show. the human condition always comes into play. if you want to be in drum corps then you have to be ready for disapointment . it goes with the territory. it's sad but true.

wow!!!!!!!!!!!! that's telling it like it is!!!! but you are so right. this bs about because i did this last time so i'm entitled to a certain score or placement is bs. these people are licky it's not the old day's when one week you beat every body then the next week you come in last. now that is real judging.

it was abot drum accesories. we used all of ours and the cabs didn't. dca that year was the best ever and probably will be for a very long time. i know for me i really enjoyed that year. the ups and downs. all the rivalries and friendships. it was great. all memories now. a lot of people are gone now but thier memories will live on.......at least for me as long as i am alive. jersey city on a late warm summer night. what a great time.

that's a great answer. i might add that it really shouldn't matter what any other corps did the only thing that SHOULD matter is the corps that's in front of them at the time. if they are worth a ninety then they get that. if someone else is worth an 80 then they get that.

while the entire event of dca still get's me riled it was what it was. yes all corps do try to win every show.........that's true. i guess that i got upset at chicago when the cabs proteseted rochester's win. we won and that was that. it's all water under the bridge now and can't be changed. peace my friend

although i wasn't there i would say that the hurcs put on a better show. there will alwys be talk of bias and i know that yes it does exist but i would say that didn't happen because there from the left coast. i will say that left coast and midest corps have a disadvantage by not getting in front of the judges enough although it really shouldn't matter in a perfect world. the only time i really saw mischief at dca was the infamous 1972 dca finals........but that's another story.

nothing is written in stone. just because a corps get's a certain score in pelims has nothing to do with the score at finals. if scores were to stay the same or increase the same thu out all the corps then why have a competition for finals. just send a tape and a resume'. the drops in score represent how well the corps did that night. i find it hard to believe that some of you can't grasp that is a competiton and not a run thru just to see a score increase. in all of my years marching that was common place. as a matter of fact from 1968- 1972 cru moved up a spot in finals from where we were in prelims. and in 1968 sky was in 2nd place in prelims and drooped to 5th at finals. it's a competition.

sky always had class. the original uni's were awsome. some of those guy's in the honor gauard have the real originals. they must have kept them from years ago.

first of all i am a huge cru supporter and i hope they move up in the standings. i can't understand how you can say you thought cru should have scred an 89. you weren't there and you didn't see it. you can't say you thought they should have had anything about what they should have had. you can sya you would have liked them to score an 89. i would have liked them to score a 92.

no one from the cabs would ever admit to watering down drum charts. i wouldn't eather but let's all be real. EVERY CORPS has watered down drum, horns and drill. it's part of competing. it's an unwrttin rule not to talk about it. we did it in the past and i know the skyliners did it in 1970. so what if the cabs did. i guess it worked for them. i think sky won in 72 but they were wound up real tight that night. they had problems off the line and didn't recover till after the traffic jam. i don't think the cabs had the show to die for in 72 and the overall execution didn't seem to be there. there was a lot of bs with the judges that night and so it went that cabs won. i don't agree but so be it. let's face it the cabs win so much they think that they should win every show. they are one of a few corps that feel a sense on entitlement. in 1965 when they lost the a.l nationals to rochester there were guy's from cabs crying. grown men so i understand all of their feelings. let's not talk about watering down charts cause all corps have done it. we're all guilty. that was the best top 5 corps ever in the finals at dca so all should hold their heads up high. and i don't want any cabs picking apart what i'm saying. you won and that's that.

that penalty sounds like a rumor to me........it's not on the dca webste.
