I’ve been pretty quiet these days but still very much enjoying Drum Corps and especially BK. There were many times when just a sparse few people would have discussions about this great drum corps and now many years later it’s heartwarming to see the love given to the Denver Team for a good amount of years! I sat in tears on my couch watching that Blue Knights Run last night, it sparked so many different memories and thoughts in me and one especially of my late father. In the summer of 1995 I went off to college telling my father that I might want to march drum corps on a few years and that it was expensive. He and my mother were very support: He knew my love for the activity was real. Two years later along side my future wife I marched BK and then a second year in 98... Every step of the way I learned the great organization that I was in, the genuine friends that were made and the legacy that Mark Arnold and his staff has built as a family/team environment that any parent would be happy to send their son and daughter to. Finally as I have become a first time Head Band Director this year I remember the wonderful structure and information taught to me by so many great instructors in BK that set me up to have chance at being a strong educator and mentor to others..... “I Remember Everything.?” You’re #### right I do.... and those members and the sobs at the end of a FANTASTIC SHOW mean that they will Always Remember Too!!! So proud to be a BK ALUM and of this great organization!!! Go Blue Knights- I GO ON!!! Wesley Perkins BK 97 98

I’ve been tears up now for 10 min since BK!! That was the finest Blue Knights performance I have ever witnessed, so emotional, ethereal just a show that they laid everything out on the line and played and performed their hearts out!!! And melted our hearts as well!!! BRAVO BK!!! That was STUNNING!!! I Go On Wes P

As Drumman said it was 2010 Ogden which is a home show for BK and was quite a feat. SCV was slow out of the gates and BK super clean and thus the topped SCV and then were close again going into Denver. The rest of the season SCV took off and ended up 5th, BK 10th... I believe that was the Eureka show from SCV that year?? -

This is Blue Knights first time to beat Cadets EVER! Wow- only one corps BK has never beaten in DCI- The Blue Devils! Way to go BK, I Go On! -
Truthfully the lack of a show last night hurt the Crossmen more than anyone. Crossmen were within 1.2 of Cadets in Casper. Because of no Denver show, the Phantom and Mandarins scores in DeKalb would slide them (X-men) into the 12 spot with a 10-12 draw. Now- one could argue that even if closer to Cadets than 12th the Crossmen were still likely to be seeded 10 when the dust settled but we just don’t know. Plus the argument of using a 5 judge panel to determine the performance draw of a major Regional like San Antonio for Cadets and Crossmen is also a huge concern.... Lots to digest, does Dan Acheson choose to take the Regional scores from last night against the latest scores of corps rained out, or perhaps take the next score for every corps to be the draw score- don’t know, in any way there’s no great answer! This is a Great Show that I wish I could see live every year. Drums Along The Rockies at Mile High is one of the best venues the entire season and always brings such an electric and amazing audience. The Blue Devils are always stellar, but this year marks one one of the best middle tier lineups in quite some time for Drums- BK, Cadets and Crossmen are gonna be fun to watch. This aught to be a downright joy to see and watch tonight!!! Best wishes to all- GO BK, DO IT UP!! Wes Perkins -
Home Show BK- Drums Day is an awesome day- enjoy! Can’t wait to see this beautiful show this evening!! DO IT UP KNIGHTS!!!

Nick Taylor Scoped BK tonight- Show is really coming along- Holy Cow are they moving!!! Both visually and musically... so much going on!!! Great vehicle that can do some damage when it’s cleaned up. This is the most complete show they’ve had since 15 and Inthink the best they’ve been in Guard, Brass and Perc. Lots of great corps out there, but don’t sleep on the Knights- “Remember” to check your rear view mirror:) haha -
I feel like BK is bridging the gap between what drum corps has been and what it is now. There’s always elements that are pushing the envelope and the activity, but there’s no reliance on gimmicks or props to make the show motor. I like all the presentations I’ve seen from the drum corps this season, but it’s refreshing to see a corps show what’s possible by evoking emotion/thought through movement and playing with still the modern edge. BK has a times taken that to near the top tier and I feel this product this year has that same type of feel to it. That said, corps are so good and creativity abounds so who knows.

Me too especially since BK has a completed and well put together show that the members are taking off with and BD is kinda being given space to improve. Both of these corps believe it or not are kind of underdogs at the start of this season. Yes BD topped SCV recently but with Crown, Bluecoats and Boston hot out east/Midwest- this show gives both BK and BD room to work and build and be hidden under the radar a bit:) -

Thanks to JJeffeory for scoping tonight... BK was much better tonight than at Rose Bowl- Brass was on tonight. This is definitely more of the ethereal BK of 2014, my feeling is during some of the down moments there’s gonna be voice overs or effects, ending when in will be fiery to say the least. Cavies are my favorite show this year bar none!
