And if flams count as notes, then I would imagine the swiss rudiments (flam taps, swiss triplets) would be the way to laying down the most possible notes. I've been to traffic court plenty of times, but would never use that logic as a defense. I just think police resources could be better utilized. Wrist slap "crimes" like speeding, possession of marijuana for personal use etc. are more about making money for the government than actually looking out for public well being, IMO.

You do understand that the technologies are not mutually exclusive, right? Your post in the other thread said "skip over blu ray and go to 3D."

That crossed my mind as well, but I think BD will have their tenors cranked a bit more than SCV, or Phantom when they were on Pearl. Think Bluecoats 1997 or Cadets 1998.

The difference for me will be in the tenor sound. That's where Pearl is untouchable.

That's the thing. I find that when I am at a comfortable distance from the screen (for its size) 720/1080 doesn't make a huge difference. 2.5-3 ft would feel way to close for me. I agree that 1080p on smaller screens is a total waste of money.

720p. The difference between 720p and 1080p is just barely evident on a 37" screen at 6 feet viewing distance. You need to be sitting really close to a big screen to appreciate any difference between the two. But, for viewing an HDTV at a reasonable distance compared to the size of the screen, 720p is more than adequate. Again, IMO.
