  1. DUH duh da duh..........DUH dud da duh Happy Holi DUH
  2. Andy; I can't speak for Bassick,or Harding, but at Central, Mr. Marsuiili didn't want Drum Corps people in his band. A nice guy until he found out you marced M&M. In 1960, I started out in the PAL Marching Band just so I could play 1st alto sax in their 22 piece Dance Band. After 1 year I couldn't stand the marching band and left for the Scarlet Knights. I too "Never Looked Back" . Jim, PCP
  3. I could have sworn I saw you conducting the " Yo He Ho" Flying Monkee Chorale at the Castle Annex outside the Emerald City. Jim Ormiston, PCP
  4. Thanks Mikey....circa 1963, 3rd year in Drum Corps :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: There is another post for the Plymouth Parade, but he didn't review CT Alumni or Park City Pride. He must have got caught speeding on I84 or I95. Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride
  5. anyone awake......(sober) enough to do a review for us shut ins? Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride
  6. Black Tunics.......Bondage of Man ???????? Did someone run this past Al and Jesse?
  7. For me those were great nights, getting to know Guy, Benjie, Gus, and playing again after 44 years with Wes Wirth, and all the others that attended. I know you are retired from DC, I meant from work. 3 corners for pizza & beer some afternoon? Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride :mmm: :mmm: :mmm:
  8. Andy, after that Barnum debut, there was no way most of us could walk away from it. As a drum arranger /instructor you were the right choice for a monster line. Are you retired now or work from home? Jim ( I still owe Andy a drink because I was housebound for the I&E ) Ormiston, PCP
  9. You may be in for a surprise. When the Park City Pride held it's first get together, we expected about 100 people....200 showed up, people from out of state & out of the country sent Emails that they would participate and learned the music over the internet and actually flew in for the Spring Sunday Camps....even from Amsterdam. They even wore their wooden shoes at practice when they came. 99 days later we fielded a Corps of 233 and stole the show.Check out these two sites. If you want to see some Alumni Corps on Nov 17th in Plymouth,MA there is a huge parade and a concert in the Old Meeting Hall (not Free & may be sold out) Sat night. You can see the corps warm up outside( drum lines), and in the warm up hall across the street for free. Good Luck! Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: http://www.theparkcitypride.org/ http://americashometown.org/concert/index.html
  10. Sorry, but I have to agree with Andy "It's your turn to buy" Lisko. I really doubt that Moe "made a living" with his photos. Covering expenses and travel costs probably ate up most of what he earned. Too bad the season is over, we could have pins made up that states.........LET MOE IN ...NOW!! Here's to you MOE :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride
  11. I agree. To HAVE to applaud everyone (good or bad) would be like going to a soccer or baseball league that doesn't keep score so that no one has to deal with losing. The world is full of losers. Those that learn from it become stronger. This is how we become winners. To be a winner we learn focus, dedication, and teamwork. We practice, we sweat ,we bond. We become family. If I don't enjoy a Corps show or performance. I will NOT wildly clap for them. I will politely clap for their effort, but the Corps is entitled to an HONEST evaluation.
  12. Benji; Two of my favorite photos of the Park City drumline was the Semi circle Moe took at the 04 Dress rehersal at Kennedy Stadium and the massive combined Park City,Hurcs, and CT Alumni in West Haven. I think Moe has a real soft spot for our line. Jim Ormiston
  13. I believe Moe may have played a Bass drum. I'm pretty sure he played Bass for the Shriner's D&B Corps, because I tried to recruit him to play Bass in the Shriner's Pipe Band. Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride :mmm:
  14. To contact Moe for pictures: :mmm: Moe Knox 26 Fairview St Devon, CT 06460 (203) 874-1003 moeknox@aol.com Moe does not have a computer, but a friend relays the Emails to him.

  16. Most people don't realize that Moe is a Shriner and volunteers his spare time to driving the children from CT to the Shriner's Hospital in Springfield,MA and back again. A real gentleman! Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride
  17. The St. Patricks Day parade in New Haven, CT is like that. It's not bad until you get to Yale University. The drunk students are really bad. They try to steal our hats, drumsticks, and flags. I had one kid try and sit on my drum as we marched. He found out that drumsticks can really hurt when you get hit by them. Even the TV camera people gave up and left. So much for the future leaders of our country. Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride, <**> <**> <**>
  18. Woodwinds? then we might as well add Saxaphones Banjos and Bull Fiddles. We can wear wild costumes, move to Philadelphia, eat bratwurst & drink Yeungling beer and become Mummers. I get this ugly image of 12 clarinete players trying to run and play with their hats tilted back on their heads as they usually do. Yes I know....a saxaphone is technically a woodwind. The reeds used are a danger to your mouth if you're running and playing. Jim Ormiston, Park City Pride :mmm: :mmm: :mmm:
