  1. Govies are also at the SR. High but rehearsing across the street :) Stop on by - we have rehearsal Friday afternoon/ eve and all day Saturday!
  2. Yeah, the time is almost here :) Wednesday night we have rehearsal/ sectionals and then the truck & trailer depart for Salem! Can't wait to perform in Ohio and see all of our other corps friends
  3. This time next week, the Govies will be a couple hours into the trip :) Can't wait - The green team is very excited to have this opportunity!

  10. Govenaires' have cast their phishin' lines into the 80th Anniversary Summer Performance Season! We began the summer season with a "back yard concert" this past weekend......... and will stay in St. Peter to pay our respects at the St. Peter Memorial Day Service Monday, May 28th! From there, the Govies will be entertaining crowds along the city streets, in a Quary and other locations until we hit Coon Rapids Drum Corps Show.... Friday, June 1st: Un-official start of Summer with Dam Days Parade - Morristown, MN (all 3 MN all-age corps participate) Saturday, June 2nd: Another anniversary gig w/ Cathedral of St. Paul's 100th Anniversay Parade Saturday, June 9th: Another anniv gig w/ Open House Rehearsal & Fairmont, MN Sesquicentennial Parade Sunday, June 10th: Opening for the Mankato Symphony Orchestra @ Rockin' in the Quary Saturday, June 16th: catch the 1st official "We've Only Just Begun" production @ Drums Along the Rapids Show.   11. This should be a great show!!!!! Good luck to all performing members and to the admin staff that put the show together........ Hope it all goes smoothly :) Watch out for the turkeys that are dressed in formal attire!!!
  12. No, we have not lost our minds........ In fact, we love our new Bb horns!!!!! Our brass players love them and they sound amazing :P
  13. Govies do not have bingo and we are doing just fine ~ There are different options available ie.... pull tabs, local arts grants, lots of parade gigs, etc....

  17. Govies will be marching in our home town (St. Peter, MN) St. Patty's Day parade on the 17th :) I hope the weather is warmer than the winterfest parade ~
  18. Thanks Jerry :) Yes, Patrick's is one of the Govenaires' favorite places........ Gotta love it, you're surrounded with corps stuff/ pix where ever you are in this place!!!! Thanks to John and staff for supporting us through out the years! *for anyone in the area Sat March 3rd - John Mayer's 40th B-day celeb will be at Patrick's * Not only did the Bucs admin staff visit Patrick's, they invaded some wall space.... hehe - Glad you were able to see our home and join in on the fun!
  19. Govies just finished their 1st official Public Performance of the year @ the St. Peter Winterfest Parade! Temp @ step off time ~ approx 4 degrees (wind chill was ???? maybe -15) We discovered: * The cold doesn't stop us or our attitudes!!!! (thanks to all for your great attitude & making it fun) * Hmmmmm, we can spin rifle with heavy/ bulky mittens * The spit really does freeze on the end of the trumpets after the 1st time thru the parade tune * Thanks to Jenniffer for making valve coozies..... The valves didn't freeze :)
  20. It was great hosting the Bucs Admin staff (Jerry, Lou, and Jimmy)!!!! Sorry about the cold temps, next time I hope the weather is atleast above Zero :) It was our pleasure sharing our success info! You really don't know how much the Open class and Class A members have in common until you have dinner together and the stories are exchanged! Hmmm, sounds like we are all "Un-Normal" people as we call ourselves :) We will always remember your visit when we walk by the Buc's license plate on the wall at Patrick's :)

  22. SHHHHHHHH....... You weren't supposed to tell them :) Actually, I was in attendance at this rehearsal for a few hours but did miss the outdoors part! I will be freezing my bumm off with the rest of the corps next time!

  24. hehe, The guard did not have rehearsal this camp! We will join in on the craziness Feb 3rd for the Winter Carnival Parade :)
