San Antonio, TX

There is a REVOLUTION coming to Georgia Drum Corps!

Revolution, one of DCI's most exciting and fastest growing corps, is expanding its base of operations (not just a single audition camp) to the great state of Georgia! The corps office will remain in San Antonio, but rehearsal camps will now take place in both Texas and Georgia.

In the first of several moves to elevate the corps to a two city approach, corps director Wes Roberts has named Marc Kaufman (former director of Court of Honor Drum and Bugle Corps) to the new post of East Coast Coordinator. In his new role, Kaufman will work in a design/instructional capacity with recently hired program coordinator Mickey Hartzog and the REVOLUTION caption heads to create a corps worthy of both great states.

Corps Director, Wes Roberts summed up his feelings about the expansion be stating; "This is an exciting time for Revolution as we will provide many more young adults the opportunity to experience the quality program that we've all worked so hard to put together."

Rehearsal will begin in December in the Atlanta area. Details will be released soon on the REVOLUTION website. Check out www.revolutionypa.org for more information about REVOLUTION and to get your audition information.

Spread the word…the REVOLUTION is coming!

Looks like REVOLUTION will have two rehearsal sites and put both halves together at their all days movein.

Hmmm....seems a little far for the kids from the valley of Texas to drive for a camp. Should be interesting if Revo goes through an "Identity Revolution".

There are no details released yet as to duel camps or when/where things are other than auditions. Just speculations.

It was clear on the MySpace post, and on the repost here. The website still has all camps in San Antonio conformed. They are EVEN having a Donna TX camp in the valley!!!!!!!

Some DCP folks just glosses over facts so the can find reason to complain. Esp when it comes to certain corps who always seem to get negative reaction to anything positive.

Sorry Revo! Best of luck in the new venture.

BTW - can someone clarify, someone told me they hate being called Revo. Is that true?

It's definitely exciting and interesting news-- nothing that's actually "NEW" though, as Kiwanis Kavaliers and some Japanese corps (Yamato, I believe is one of them?) have done and/or continue to have camps in different areas of the country -- or different countries for that matter!

Hopefully it works out for Revolution!

back on topic,

It's a very interesting plan. If it does prove to be successful, we'll more than likely see a bigger Revolution next season :)
