jgarnreiter
I was driving home from D.C. (washington not drm crps) at 2 a.m. this morning and, of course, I had nothing else to do but think. While I was thinking about random things and listening to various shows I got into thinking the whole "wouldnt it be cool if they had this person on staff?" while listening. So my question for anyone, if you were to design a program, who would be your "dream team" of instructors and staff? [name]- Drill [name] [name] [name] [name]-Brass and so on

jgarnreiter
This is an extra little question i was wondering about. I was watching a podcast by Vic Firth, and thought of another question to throw in here. Who's writing style do you prefer. Aungst, or "ScoJo". Both have tought world class lines, and im wondering who you think may be better/ more favorable. It may just be me, but it kinda seems like the parts that Aungst writes are more for the sake of challenging the kids than for the musical aspect. Anybody else feel that way? JDWEX1117
same thing or different? explain a bit more? What I mean is, I get the feeling that Aungst writes the book with the mindset of writing something challenging for the kids to test them. I feel like Scott writes the parts with the mindset of writing musically. Aungst=Difficulty, Scott=Musicality. I could be wrong, but it's just a feeling. KarmicCloud
Personally I think it's just the opposite. East coast lines I find to be a lot more musical, while west coast lines play more agressively and with more notes. Just two different styles, really. willyc
Just a thought - with no particular personality in mind........................................................ When you get a group of people, all at the top of their game, could it even work? People who accomplish things that take them to the top of their field often have personalities that make it tough for them to be collaborative in a group of 'equals'. They are often used to being the person that the program is built around, not an equal part of a team. I know that there would be collaboration, but just wonder, if - push came to shove - how it would play out? Not meant to be a flame, or a thread killer, but just wondering?
