WWonka
OK just mulling around some of the rule changes and thinking of ways you could use/abuse them. Would the following be legal in '09? 150 members: 12 Mic'd Horns - 4 Trumpets, 2 Mellos, 4 Baris, 2 Euphs (no need for Contra/Tuba play the bass line on the keyboards) Percussion - 1 Trap player, 1 misc percussion - cowbell? etc. 4 Keyboard players - 1 melody, bass line, rythhm, etc. 1 Lead Singer, 4 Backup singers (mix match as needed) 7 On field prop, equipment people 120 Guard/Dance performers. Not saying I want to see it but would that ensemble be legal now? I saw no limits on the time a horn can be mic'd just the number.
bawker
...that looks legal to me if I read the rules right for 2009... "Up With People: The 2009 Boogaloo": catch the magic!
kusankusho
I didn't know it was humanly possible to laugh, cry and barf all at the same time....
kmansdrummin
Yeah, and for the "percussion" solo, there could be the keyboard intro to the Who's "Baba O'Reilly".

For some reason, this also makes me think of "WHAM" - "Wake me up, before you go go . . . " Maybe the folks that decide to go to DCI shows this year should yell "EWWWW" and hold their nose instead of yelling "Boo" . . .
K-Swiss
I'd prefer "Baba O'Reilly" on Blue Man Groups backpack tubulums, personally
WWonka
The score sheets still say "Brass" so you have to keep the token horns right? Edit: Answering my own question.. I looked it up and yes, it looks like you do still have to have some "Brass". Hmm that limits creativity. We should look into removing that. Anyone else got some cool combinations they would like to see tried out? Edited January 28, 2008 by WWonka
Lance
If you want to score in that caption, yeah. That doesn't mean a corps couldn't omit them if they wanted to. Even right now, if a corps came out with 150 colorguard only, they shouldn't be able to be disquailified. At least, that's what I've always figured. Tell me if I'm wrong.
