N Murphy
I'm stumped. We've brainstormed, and we just can't find a name we like. How do you pick your show name? Also, if you were a spectator, and their show title was in a different language, and you didnt' know what it meant, would it bother you? (or what if you were a judge? does it bother judges to not understand the show title?) Thanks!

They're busy talking about the last show they saw or about something else while your guard sets up Judges are generally busy completing notes/scores from the previous show and/or making their intro comments, getting a quick drink of water, etc. and don't really pay attention when the announcer is talking. And honestly, the name has no impact on judges' comments or thoughts about your show.
Musical_Spinner
Using the name of the song is bad imo, if your show has nothing to do with it or is a translation of the song. In guards I have been in we have heard specific feedback on our show title so I wouldn't be too quick to say the judges won't notice something a little out of the ordinary. PrfctTimeOfDay
What's the theme?? Do you have a working title?!? If you throw it out there, I'm sure with the powers that be on these forums, you'd get a bazillion good ideas/suggestions for your show title. N Murphy
What's the theme?? Do you have a working title?!? If you throw it out there, I'm sure with the powers that be on these forums, you'd get a bazillion good ideas/suggestions for your show title. Well, I've talked to a few here thru PM about our show, and received only a little feedback. So, some of you may be familiar with it. . . Anyway, we are using "Held" by Natalie Grant, our floor is a dark tan on front right corner, fading to light tan to the opposite back left corner. going along that same line, are footprints. 2 pairs, then suddenly only one pair. echoing the "Footprints in the Sand" poem. While we don't use any vocal reference to the poem, we are using those footprints for a few ideas in the show, and using them as a staging background. I really don't want to use "Held" as the title. someone suggested "esperanza" or hope in spanish. We have about 1 full page of suggestions, but none that grab me, and very few I think are decent. It may be helpful to look up the lyrics to the song to get the idea of what it is about.
PrfctTimeOfDay
Well, after listening to the music and looking at your theme, I think you've got the makings of a really great show. So, off the top of my head, here's what comes to mind for a possible show title: "In Better Hands" "When I Carried You" "Catharsis" "Never Alone" "My Refuge" "On the Shores of Darkness, There Is Light" Feel free to use or hate any of them. . :-) Best of Luck to you this season! N Murphy
Thanks! I am really excited about this show. You have some AWESOME ideas! I'll let you know if I use any of them. Thank you so much for helping us out! I've been so 'into' our show, that this area has stumped me!
Guardguy89
Our show name was in French last year "Chason Triste" - and no one could really pronounce it in the States - and half the time they were using our show title from the year before "Square Miles Apart". I think that Fantasia more than proved last year that show titles don't really count. This year we're doing Mozart - so we've named our show "The Music of Mozart" - we're really going out on a ledge with that one Later, Mike

N Murphy
Wow, those are neat! A couple of the girls have kindof thought of some designs. They have used the footprints on the back, wrapping to the front (going at an angle twisting around the body) ending in the front with one set. Like our tarp design. We're not sure if we are going to use their desings, but I have to say, I like what you have come up with! And we really like the "on the shores" title. We're still discussing, but we're closer to having a title! yay! Thanks!
