Well, when the corps, or DCI, didn't obtain synching rights; if they didn't take the time to get all of the needed approval, it must not have been a huge priority for them. It's not like synching rights are some new fangled thing that no one has ever had to deal with in the history of DCI/marching band before this season. If DCI, or member corps, don't take the time to secure ALL necessary rights and get it iron clad/in writing, then it's HORRIBLE business. Talk all you want about the original composer yanking at the last minute, but if DCI/Phantom didn't get that in writing, it's their fault and/or Phantom should've used different music. Either way, it doesn't matter a ton because what's done is done. Hopefully DCI, and it's member corps, learnred from this debacle and this won't be an issue this year (or future years).
