BRASSO
Say the following shows went head to head on one night (champions and those scoring closest to the champions since 2002): 2002 Cavaliers 2003 Blue Devils 2004 Cavaliers 2004 Blue Devils 2005 Cadets 2006 Cavaliers 2006 Phantom Regiment 2006 Blue Devils 2007 Blue Devils 2007 Cadets 2008 Phantom Regiment 2008 Blue Devils How much spread would there be from 1-12 ? I HAVE NO IDEA. BUT THE JUDGES HEADS WOULD ALL EXPLODE, I'M SURE OF THAT. Edited June 10, 2009 by BRASSO
gsksun4
I'm not a Cubs fan and I don't believe in curses.I do believe in both good and bad baseball though. And that good and bad ownership and management puts you where you belong. Same as Drum Corps in this respect. I don't believe in curses either, but it was fun to think they did. Actually it was just an 86 year coincidence.

gsksun4
more impactful than " 86 years of coincidence" though, was " 86 years of mostly bad baseball ". They had a few moments. I always liked Carlton Fisk jumping up and down coaxing that home run shot, but every now and then I like to zing them with the mention of Bucky Dent or Bill Buckner. That said though, they seem to have the Yankees number so far this season.

What about the poor kid from BD who marched 2003 thru 2008 who would have to march 5 different shows on one night! We'd provide him INT and he'd be good to go.

Bob J
Is this because, every year, there are only 3 or 4 shows that are really that good, or is it because, as humans, we can't really distinguish among more than 3 or 4 individuals in a group, so we (or judges) classify all the corps into groups and go from there? Say the following shows went head to head on one night (champions and those scoring closest to the champions since 2002): 2002 Cavaliers 2003 Blue Devils 2004 Cavaliers 2004 Blue Devils 2005 Cadets 2006 Cavaliers 2006 Phantom Regiment 2006 Blue Devils 2007 Blue Devils 2007 Cadets 2008 Phantom Regiment 2008 Blue Devils How much spread would there be from 1-12? Well, due to slotting, I would say about 12-13 points.
Silver_King
Blue Stars have been 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. I'd call that elite in the same vein as "Madison will always be elite no matter what place the end in." Hope that didn't come across as nasty, but BS was there in the beginning. They're working their way back up. then lets start when all the corps first competed against each other. Glassmen were not division one until 1980 which was after BS time at the top. Bob J
But using that criteria, Crown didn't start competing until 1990. Shall we start there to evaluate the current crop of "elites"?
