Pretty Excited

Recommended Posts

Big day in K-Town for the Grenadiers tomorrow. Corps and alumni will be escorted down Princess Street to city hall. We will play a bit and back to the Montreal Street Armouries for a get together and a warm up for the banquet at the Ambassador Convention Center. Doug Orser will be the first inductee to our Hall of Fame . An amazing path which began as The Princess of Wales Turmpet Band.

Thanks to all our fans, friends, volunteers and members from years gone by. With out you it just doesn't happen.

Congrats Don...

As one of the few around here who remembers the Pricess of Wales Bugle Band, I congratulate you all... Big special congrats to Doug Orsor - a great guy and a great Grenadier... we go back a LONG way... it was my pleasure to march with him in Cru. My Fulton Gauchos and Kingston had a very close relationship - for sure... from 1960 to 1964...

One question: is the Montreal Street Armouries where you used to hold the after show parties? Where I learned at about the age of 14 that Blue Label came in BIG bottles and beer was NOT meant to be in cans?

What a great day for Grenadier history!

There are some incredible folks involved with that organization. Past, present and future. Grenadiers have a solid team that won't give up on Canada's corps. It must be something in the water, its a trait that has been passed down generation to generation.

I hope the corps has a wonderful day tomorrow. YOU DESERVE IT!

Tom: That was the Kingston Memorial Center about a 10 minute march from Richardson Stadium on Queens campus. Later on we mastered the fine art of building beer castles and it was always the mission to build one bigger than the Roylaires of course.

My buddy John kept a close eye on things because at some point at the after party there was always attempts at sabotage.haha

Congrats Grennies! Truly a class act organization, with many amazing people on board. Happy 50th, enjoy the day and the season

Truly brings tears to my eyes when I think of all members who have marched and passed through these hallowed halls..I say this with some bias...Grenadiers have always been a welcome corps to most shows...and again I say this with humble pie....over the years Grenadiers have been the corps that always added to the show.....ie; jeez we need someone to fill out this show....and we were there......always entertaining..always exciting...and always there for the fans...and yes Tom we have had over the years such a great relationship with Fulton, syracuse,Rochester, et al... Happy 50'th Grennies

Thanks to all for the best wishes on the Grenadiers 50th Anniversary. A really good time was had by all. For such a busy day Saturday I was amazed on how hard the corps worked Sunday. Time to stop the talk and walk the walk.

Cheers DLD

Absolutely Don. It was a great time. Now walk the walk for sure!!!!
