5 questions for: George Hopkins

Recommended Posts

When he's not focused on tenths of a point, which is most of the time, what keeps George Hopkins busy?

In the first Field&Floor conversation with leaders of, yes, field and floor, he talks candidly about what has kept the corps in the game for 75 years, how corps' alums react and interact with the organization, and how fund-raising -- begging -- and sponsorships undergird the bottom line.

Oh, and he wonders aloud about the 2010 field show.

As usual, Dave, a fascinating read.

Put in your orders now for your "Philip Glass Revisited" t-shirts. :)

"First up: the leader of the oldest, and one of the most prolific, drum and bugle corps in the activity."

I can go along with one of the oldest, but THE oldest continuously competitive drum corps is the Racine Scouts, not the Cadets.
