Pit_Girl_77
An Evening With GCS "We're BACK and we brought the party with us!" Spend a night out with GCS as we hit the club scene at the end of another hard day at the office. Every evening starts with the countdown to the end of the work day. When the clock hits 5, it's time to cut loose and head to the neighborhood watering hole to have a good time. Never knowing who we'll meet, the music we'll hear on the jukebox, or how the night plays out is all part of the fun. Most of the time, the wait staff keeps us happy and the proprietor keeps us in line, but as closing time nears anything can happen with this wild bunch from Texas. Join us as we celebrate our return to the DCA field of competition! What Is Hip? I came to the conclusion the Rutter's Gloria by itself could make a great Drum Corps show....then found out that Colts had the exact idea 10 YEARS AGO! I am really looking forward to hearing Hurc's treatment of it.

Centurions PR
I just was exposed to the works of John Rutter in the last 9 months at which point I started to grab everything I could listen to. I came to the conclusion the Rutter's Gloria by itself could make a great Drum Corps show....then found out that Colts had the exact idea 10 YEARS AGO! I am really looking forward to hearing Hurc's treatment of it. Actually, the Colts played Rutter's Magnificat as their show in 1996. It is not as good a work as Gloria, but still made for a pretty effective drum corps show, IMO. That was their highest finish ever, I believe, coming in 9th place that year. Anyway, to get back to DCA, I am also looking forward to seeing the Hurcs spin on Gloria, as well as the rest of their selections, pretty interesting stuff. It is a different direction for them, hopefully it pays off.
vanhoese
High Country Brass will perform their 2010 show entitled Wishes. The show will take you on a familiar journey that originated in the Middle East, where a young peasant man stumbles upon a magical lantern during a trek through the desert. He invokes the power of the genie trapped inside, and is granted three wishes. The show begins with the “Discovery” of the lantern and is quickly followed by the peasant’s wishes for “Riches,” “Passion,” and “Power.” What will happen to this young man? Will he get everything he wishes for, or will he lose what means the most to him in a fit of greed? Wishes was created from music composed and arranged by John Meehan, with additional percussion arrangements written by Ward Durrett. Visual design is by George Lindstrom and the color guard is choreographed by Lisa Cowden.
