FHdork
Count me in on this great idea! Nothing like money to motivate people...works for me in my world...and it will work in drum corps -
3rd Glasgow BB
Frankly - that's ridiculous that SCV's show is not finished. I propose that Hopkins or somebody come up with a rule that if a corps is not able to compete with their FULL SHOW ON THE FIELD (i,e, marching too) then they must go on during intermission in exhibition. In addition to that, they receive no money for their appearance. I can't believe this is tolerated by DCI. People are paying for show tickets and the top corps at the doesn't even have a complete show? That's considered class? I find it ridiculous. I'd rather watch a corps standing still for 2 minutes than watch something akin to a car crash. Besides somebody like SCV might be able to absorb not being paid but I'm sure some of the smaller corps couldn't. Perhaps if 25% of your drill is missing then 25% gets deducted from your final visual mark, GE & Ensemble. Deducting cash isn't a good idea. billj
Whose show IS complete right now? For years now i've seen the Cavaliers not march their real closer drill until mid July. Cadets tweak their show weekly. Some of Crowns shows recently havent resembled what they looked like when they first came out in June. And more and more, corps seem to be saving some final tricks for finals week. So I don't buy that SCV is incomplete, since everyone is incomplete right now, some more obvious than others.
