DoubleHighEZ
Been thinking about getting this mouthpiece for a little bit ever since i've seen one, but I have not yet tryed it out Thoughts? [/quote A very good all around mpc. I have recommended this mpc. to many a student. Consider getting a gold-plated model.
Armyscout
highly recommend this piece in either gold or silver. Did well for me.
Shadow_7
A good piece. Any reason for the megatone over the regular? I've got a G&W Dave Hickman that somehow just fits me. Anything else is like 2x's the work. But I tend to favor larger pieces(1C) being a native low brass player. The megatones have similar traits to the stainless steel mouthpieces. A smoother surface like gold or stainless steel will make a mouthpiece feel slightly bigger than it actually specs to. Lots of options out there. Soprano Martin
Its a nicely balanced piece, and does well with most players comfortable on 3c or similar sized cup. It's a little heavy for my liking but it still plays nice for me.
NoFunnyBusiness
I would recomend maybe going to a 1 1/2 instead of 3c depending on how long you've been playing. The megatone is an okay mouthpiece, but there are better out their, but if you're on a budget hey, go for it.
CloudHype
I find it too shallow for a good legit piece. Also the rim is not of my liking. Also my professor in college hated megatones, I forgot the main reason but the throat not being large enough for the added mass is one reason. I would stick with a normal Bach blank but I use a heavy Yamaha 14b4GP (jazz and lead is all I play now). I have a legit piece that is collecting dust and its a Hangstrom signature model. kaseyW
Been thinking about getting this mouthpiece for a little bit ever since i've seen one, but I have not yet tryed it out Thoughts? EWWWWWWWWW I own a standard gold 1.5c and it plays/produces/projects the same tone as the megatones. I've found out/heard from many people that this piece is a waste of money. If you really want to take your time and invest into a genuine mouthpiece, go for a Monette. They are costly but they are definitely worth your money (that's if you play freely and open). SophumperMMX
Bach is good and I like megatones, but make sure you shop around for the piece that fits your face and will do what you need it to do. Try a few out and if the store will let you take some home to play on for about a week before you purchase it. I call it "mouthpiece love" when you play on a piece and it feels perfect in the store but once you play on it for about a week it kinda doesn't live up to hour expectations. Just some friendly advice, SC
