No full review, but I agree with you... it was a good show.

Excellent venue. The Couch Performing Arts Center auditorium is wonderful.

All the corps put in a good night's work.... but the performances that really stood out for me were those of Blessed Sacrament, the Boston Crusaders senior corps, and the Bridgemen.

I've said this before, but the Crusaders' horn line has a sound that is not overpoweringly loud by any means.... but it has an intensity level that is hard to describe. And the snare/single tenor line..... holy mackerel. Clean, clean, clean.

Blessed Sac's horn line was in top form. And the Bridgemen's show..... wow!!! Great sound, great charts.

The "Where did THESE guys come from?" award has to go to the Westchester Brassmen, who were terrific... especially their full-sized drum line, which, from what I saw, would do quite well against a number of DCA competition lines.

Al Horton, Thank you for the kind words and the many years of support that you have given the Selden Cadets. I know that if Buddy Perry were here, he would have been thrilled that we have moved forward to where we are today.

I also want to thank the great BSGK for the invitation that enabled us to perform in the Cavalcade of Music Show for the second year in a row. Your organization sure knows how to host a show.

Al, the Selden Cadets Alumni also want to thank you for the beautiful banners and photos that you made for us. We use them at all of our events.

Kudos to all the folks in the BSGK corps for a most enjoyable day of drum corps and hats off to all the guys and gals in all of the great corps who entertained us for the day. :worthy:

GREAT job Tony. The audio portion was great. Listened to a couple of the Corps and it seemed to really capture the true essence and quality of the horn lines in attendance. Excellent!!!!!!

The Westchester Brassmen Drum and Bugle Corps....for those wondering "where we came from", I think it has been more like, where have we been. The corps has been around since 1984 and in the late 90's to mid 2000's, the corps had a substantial drop in membership. Since 2006 we have grown to a full size drum line and a horn line of approximately 60 (when everyone is there). The results of relentless membership drives is what you witnessed on May 21. We will be around this year at the Braintree, Massachusetts and Bristol, RI 4th of July parades, we will perform in exhibition at the Barnum Festival in Bridgeport as well as march in the parade the next day, will be attending the Bridgemen show in July, and the Shamrock Festival in August. In addition, we march in 15-20 firefighter parades in Westchester County NY. I am a very proud 23-year member/assistant brass instructor of this corps and though I was unable to attend the show as my 2 choirs were competing in Allentown, PA, I have heard nothing but great things. Thanks to all those who have commented on our performance, it is greatly appreciated. If you would like to find more information out about the Brassmen, visit us at http://www.westchesterbrassmen.com Look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I remember seeing the Brassmen at various indoor shows, parades, etc. over the years... but was wondering what had happened to the corps.

Now we know!!!! Great job at the Cavalcade show!
