mckdan
I do make not-so positive comments now and then, but I am a fan, not a jerk. I agree! Sometimes you have to be truthful about a corps, but, I didn't see you ragging on Pioneer for their lack of horns or Troopers for not having their old uniforms. I appreciate honesty but not "Mr. Nasty"!
kevingamin
The 2011 Colts program is entitled "Deception: The Jagged Edge" and consists of: Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, Peter Ilyich Danza de los Duendes by Galbraith, Nancy The Swan from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, Camille Mind Heist by Hemsey, Zack

kevingamin
I'm a brass guy, but I recognize the arranging style for Colts pit right away. It's a style I like, so that's a good thing. Nice minor chords from the horns while changing from front to back. Big inverse arc as the corps makes the main Swan Lake statement. Opening statement definitely gets your hair standing up. Crowd likes it, too.
kevingamin
Nice 16th note run down from the trumpets to the tubas, but weird that the mellos are all the way on the left, so the run doesn't follow the form.
kevingamin
Danza de los Duendes was played by Glassmen in 2003 and by Madison in 2008. Great piece.
kevingamin
Powerful quick drum break. Horns now behind the drums, spreading out on the field while making their way forward.
