What will help DCI become more entertaining

Here we go....wait for it...... G Bugles! :bleah:/> :bleah:/> -
I think you may be on to something....I am a firm believer that Drum Corps did itself a big diservice by abandoning the regional circuits back in the day. I could talk for days as to why but will spare you that rant right now. The main thing at this point is the growth of the activity. To address its survival, I firmly believe you need to approach it from an idea of growth. FACT....Open Class shows have difficulty drawing large enough crowds to sustain the class and if you want to foster the growth of the activity, the growth/survival of open class corps is vital. So by including them in World Class events you expose their exsistance to people who might otherwise never know about them and make the activity more meaningful for those corps/kids.....Like I said, I could go on about this for days, but for now I'll just leave it at that.

Wow really good post, the only thing I disagree with is your statement of fan interest being the same, I would disagree there, but your point about shows being geared to visual and becoming choppy with changing ideas every 2-3 secs is right on the money. -

So not true, I bet Carolina Crown would sound just as good on G's if not better. There were many great sounding G lines of the past. -

I don't think they would, if they ever got to play in a g line (much less hear a good one) I don't think they'd ever go back. -
What does Deborah Torchia have against the Cavaliers?
bmroth1 replied to grjt's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Agreed, anytime Debbie is on a panel you can count on some bizzare scoring!!! -

Nothing bad to say about the 70s and 80s. Those were the days fans got on their feet and threw babies at the corps. Today Meh... -
