scv9396 Posted July 9, 2011 Share Posted July 9, 2011 The California State Open will feature DCI World Class competitor Mandarins, as well as the current DCI Open Class defending world champion Blue Devil 'B' competing against the only corps to defeat them in 2010, the host Vanguard Cadets, as well as the following Open Class corps: Impulse, City Sound, Spokane Thunder, Velvet Knights and Blue Devils 'C'. The San Francisco Renegades and SoCal Dream will be competing in the All-Age division. Gonna be a good show, it's been 2 weeks since SCVC & BDB has seen each other. VK was fun. Vanguard was smooth as always. But BDB performed with a PURPOSE. They left little doubt who the top dog was on this night. In my opinion, the spread between first and second should have been closer to 2 pts. BDB swept every catagory (except for Mus Percussion, but still won the overall percussion catagory). Not at pre show warm up, but during the show!!! No dougbt, BDB and SCVC gonna be the corps to beat at DCI. Gonna be a fun ride till DCI with these two! Dude....the ave age of BDC is somewhere around the 9-10 mark...cut 'em a break. Besides...they win the crowd over every...single...time.
