Shadow_7
High Brass: 2 Civil War replicas (made in india) 1 Rexcraft Bugle (made in USA) 1 Getzen AHFT 1 Kanstul Powerbore Soprano 1 King K-60 2 valve French Horn Low Brass: 1 Yamaha YSL-684G Tenor Trombone with F (closed wrap) 1 Bundy Tenor Trombone (not a bad horn for a student model) 1 Kanstul KEB195 Euphonium in G (best marching Euph I've played on) 1 Conn 20J BBb Tuba (my christmas present to myself this year, I wanted a contra, but no-one is selling any good 3 or more valved ones, at least not for < 1K) What I used to own: 1 Boosey & Hawks Tenor Trombone (learned on it, dad bought it for $75 in 1981, left it at my high school('90) for someone else to learn trombone, the inner slide was over 50% brass as the original nickel plate was mostly worn off) 1 Trombone (don't remember brand, bach student model I think, donated it to the corps garage sale, the slide kind of sucked, picked it up at a pawn shop about ('95) eight years earlier) 1 Bundy Trumpet (also bought for $75. sold it to an army guy, gave the money to my younger brother, it was his horn) 1 cheap korean guitar (gave it to a cousin, used to be my older brothers) Mouthpieces: 3C Kelly - clear - Trumpet - (don't really like this piece) 3C Kelly - crystal red - Trumpet - (a pretty good piece, prefered cold weather one for me) 3C Getzen - Trumpet - (don't really like this piece) 3CFL Bach - Flugel - (don't really like this piece) Something Wide and Shallow (came with the rexcraft bugle, really hate this piece) Schilke 15B - Trumpet - (really like this piece, comfy) Schilke 13a4a - Trumpet - (on order, since 11/15) Schilke 31 - French Horn - (good piece, but a little tight/shallow) Kelly MDC - French Horn - (don't really like this piece) Stork Myers M1 - French Horn - (love the way it plays, hate the medium thin rim) Bach Mello 6 - Mellophone - (wrong shank, huge cup, but nice loud dark tone) Conn CKB Mello 6 - Mellophone - (nice piece, a little small but comfy to play on) Bach 11C - Small Shank - (good pea shooter trombone piece) Bach 12C - Small Shank - (don't really like this piece, too shallow for it's width) Benge 12C - Small Shank - (don't really like this piece same as bach 12C) Made in England - Small Shank - (came with Boosey & Hawks tbone, so so piece) Bach 7C - Small Shank - (small tenor trombone piece) LM-60 - Small Shank - (great pea shooter piece) Yamaha 48 - Small Shank - (so so piece, middle of the road-ish, nothing stellar about it) Bach 5GS - Small Shank - (great tenor trombone piece) Schilke 51D - Small Shank - (great for YEP-321S Euphonium, but too big for tenor bone) Bach 5GS - Large Shank - (great piece, a little shallow for a Kanstul Euphonium, or Bass bone) Schilke 51D - Large Shank - (good piece, a little small / stuffy for a Kanstul Euphonium) Kelly 51D - Large Shank - (Comfy piece, larger inner rim than the schilke 51D) LM-20 - Large Shank - (great piece, took a little while to get used to) Bach 1 1/2G - Large Shank - (great piece, closer to 1 1/4G modern, gave to friend, damaged shank) Benge 1 1/2G - Large Shank - (good piece, smaller than the Bach 1 1/2G, gave to friend) Schilke 59 - Large Shank - (great piece, a little big / plays flat for a Kanstul Euphonium) Mirafone C4 - Tuba - (Good piece, a little on the shallow side) LM-10 - Tuba - (still on order thanks to shipping mishap) Horn's I'd like to Have: 3 valve Kanstul Contra in G 4 valve Deg Contra in G 2 valve King Euph K-80 in Mint condition 2 valve Deg Euph chrome (historic nastalgia) P/R French Horn (the long one) Edwards - Tenor Trombone Edwards - Bass Trombone Bach - 50t3 Bass Trombone 3 valve Kanstul Mellophone (if only to complete my voicings) 3 valve Kanstul Baritone Grande (if only to complete my voicings) Concert French Horn, double or tripple horn. Yes, I play all of these horns. - Kanstul Powerbore Soprano with a Schilke 15B (probably something smaller soon) - King K-60 French Horn with a Myers M1 (probably go schilke 30 or 32 eventually) - Kanstul KEB195 Euphonium with an LM-20 - Conn 20J BBb Tuba with a mirafone C4 (soon to be LM-10, with C4 rim) - Yamaha YSL-684G with an LM-60, sometimes a Bach 5GS. - Rexcraft bugle with a Bach Mello 6 (the wrong shank, but it plays the best for me, more of an indoor sound) - Civil War replica bugles with a 3C normally - Getzen AHFT with a 3C on the Bb side even though I have the G crook. It just slots and speaks better in Bb. I don't really play the bundy trombone all that much, but it got me into the army band and helped keep me there when the command would make the extra effort of doing a surprise audition. I pull it out about once a year. Mouthpieces I'll probably get: Schilke 6a4a (out of curiousity) Bobby Shew 1.25 Schilke 30 Schilke 32 Schilke 53D LM-35 LM-6 (lm-7 with a larger throat) LM-10 (on order) Schilke 13a4a (on order) Note: Up until '2000 my bundy trombone was all that I owned. Having started band in 6th grade in 1981. Most of my other horns were acquired after 2000 starting with the Yamaha Trombone. With the exception of the horns I used to have. Kind of sad, being in band almost twenty years before I got around to buying a horn for myself. Much less a new or semi-new horn.
