But I can tell you, I've been trying to get a corps to play Schickele's "1712 Overture" since VK in the 90's. Glad someone finally had the nerve to tackle it. It could only have been better if it had been the whole show. Could you imagine a full production? I even suggested it to JD Shaw a couple of years ago, just to see if Phantom Regiment had the sense of humor to do it, because it would have been fantastic! An Encore performance is available online, so it's better than nothing. Not too bad. This corps is emerging again and growing. Good news! PRoud mom Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 I saw the Impulse show in the Bay Area and then again in So Cal. When I saw them in Elk Grove they didn't look too good, but the next night they looked like a totally different corps. In So Cal they again sounded amazing. I liked their show a lot - had some humor to it also with the loud air gulp near the end. I am new to drum corps so can't compare to years' past.
