What a night that was as Loretto and their power-packed 28 man hornline thumped Cambridge ... just one more indication that had the NY Metro corps like St. Catherine's, Loretto and Selden been able to attend the VFW Nats in Minneapolis, the top-12 Finalists might have looked a tad different ...

Thanks for posting these ... whenever I MC a show, I always brings some scores from 30-40-50 years ago with me ... sometimes I even read the DCN articles during "down" times ... you gave me some good ones for the Secaucus DCA show on August 19th ...

"Upset in an Upset":

Bridgeport's PAL Cadets also had a good night slipping past the I.C. Rever corps. Revere had been having a great season with wins over St Mary's Cardinals and Majestic Knights as well as the Boston Crusaders.

The week preceeding the Ansonia show they had beaten Cambridge Cab's in an Massachusetts contest.

Sadly several corps from this show (Loretto and Caimbridge) as well as St Catherine's Queensmen would close their doors at the end of the 1962 season.

Great memories from a GREAT era in drum corps.

Thanks for the scores Northern Thunder! I had the placements for the Golden show but no scores, same with Lake Mills, WI.

Speaking of Wisconsin, do you happen to have the scores for the Edgerton, Mauston and/or Horicon contests, all the very next day after Lake Mills, July 30th 1972(40 years ago today)

Phantom beat St Pats at Lake Mills on the 29th, but I think St Pats won at Horicon, been a long time, maybe I am wrong on that.
