That was the year that the Scouts were walking on water. When he told us that the corps he really wanted to march with were the Kilties we mere 18 year-olds were shocked. Now looking back on it with the benefit of hindsight I understand what he meant. They're a very unique corps. The actual corps' base is within a 140-150 miles radius area of Racine; with a good member representation coming from even further down the pike (or up the pike). Milwaukee area, Madison area, Green Bay area, Chicago area, Fox Cites area, South Bend (IN) area, Detroit area, etc. etc.........and further for some!!
