caviesfan12
Does anybody know what song Madison sung/played before/during the big gate in their closer? Corps reps listed it as Malaguena but after finding video of them in the lot, it wasnt Malaguena lol.
losnickes
It was Malaguena mixed with a movement from Pictures at an Exhibition. I forget which one. Edited November 20, 2012 by losnickes

Michael Boo
It was the opening to "Great Gate of Kiev" from "Pictures at an Exhibition." (Many composers arranged Mussorgsky's original for orchestra, but the version by Maurice Ravel of "Bolero" fame is the one most everyone knows.)From my notes taken during an interview with Robert W. Smith in Allentown: "We wanted to wrap down to something quiet, beautiful and a color not heard before. The men’s choir section in five parts was originally written for small brass choir. The use of vocals was suggested in the February design meeting, so I left the meeting, rescored it and came back 30 minutes later and taught it to the brass." Rufus67
I didn't get to see many competitions last year, but we did have a chance to host the Scouts at our HS for rehearsal. What a great show highlighted by a mash-up of songs that, quite frankly, I didn't think would work if you had just told me about it. What a great moment executed by a remarkable group.
