Popular Post Fred Windish
Recently, opinions have been expressed here to suggest local shows on the tour are not such big a deal. That's WRONG! I can't stand for such opinions. Allow me this opportunity to THANK all of you who have "bought in" to what our activity offers. You who have stepped up to the plate, at considerable risk, because you value us. Sure, you might make a few bucks that night. Same could be said had you chosen to present a mid-level country music act, a carnival, etc. But, no, you chose to support what we do. I, and many, many others are grateful for that, and always will be. There are "divas" and diva-wannabes who post here. They do NOT represent the bulk of the activity's participants. Please know, what you provide to us is critical. You are what makes travel between our self-sponsored shows possible. I appreciate and admire your tireless efforts. You're the best!

skywhopper
Not only are TEPs critical to the success of the DCI tour, but whatever money they make often goes back into local band and music programs. This is actually one of the ways in which DCI does the most to fulfill its mission of supporting music education. Far more students benefit from money raised via DCI shows than receive direct education and experience on the DCI tour. Keep up the great work, TEPs! I'm in awe of the amount of work that goes into putting these shows together.
UNCGQ
Just to jump on the 'love train', TEP encounter significant risk due to the cost of hosting a show (corps housing, stadium costs, DCI contract costs, food costs if they're the vendor, etc.), especially when compared to the size of the overall budget of some of the organizations (and/or the size of the profits they might make). They're not risking a dollar to make ten, the proportion is closer to the other way around, and the activity should better recognize those people who feel strongly enough about the activity to take those risks to support the marching-arts world. Gary Matczak
believe it or not, many TEPs engage in fundraisers and team building across the year in order to supplement the income side of the equation of putting on a contest for the community,........... in most cases, day of event receipts simply do not cut it,..............really!
