renthead09
I think 120 is a little on the light side. (Depending on where they are with the holes) Loved the sound of the total ensemble at the standstill. Not a big drummer guy here (was a horn player), but battery and pit both were strong. Yes, there is a female vocalist for "Going Home". She isnt distracting or over the top where she takes away from the corps. Cant wait to see them Friday in their first World Class Competition. corpsband
Interesting descriptor on the side of their truck there.... Gives me the impression that they will be following BD down the same rabbit hole with the opinion that BD hasn't gone far enough? Drum corps has always been a performing art. I suspect someone thought that Oregon Crusaders Performing Arts didn't quite look right and thought they'd tweak the words to "make more sense" never realizing that "Performance Art" has it's own specific meaning. So take off your tinfoil hat and have a cold one :-)

Makes even MORE sense although it does run the risk of being misinterpreted if the punctuation is overlooked. That does make a lot more sense, although for about 24 hours there it did secretly have me hoping to see some really weird stuff going on!

NY152
So what does it mean to be World Class? They still are playing an incomplete show for their Northwest shows, then taking two weeks off for more rehearsals before resuming tour in San Antonio. It's the same thing they did last year as Open Class. Why aren't they putting a full show on the field when they start, and touring completely through the summer?

Schools just closed there for the year and they do have a lot of local high school kids. Edited June 29, 2013 by drilltech1

It's the same thing they did last year as Open Class. Why aren't they putting a full show on the field when they start, and touring completely through the summer? Because there's no requirement in World Class to do so? Because they're being prudent about what they can do with the resources & members they currently have? Seems like a similar approach to the one Jersey Surf has successfully used.
luv4corps
I think starting with what they can handle successfully is smart planning to insure they don't go the way of Teal Sound. Honestly, why over commit and then go under? Makes perfect sense what they are doing.
