BigW
The CT/TBT pairing is the really interesting one there. Both have a lot at stake at that contest. I haven't seen CT, their numbers look good. Too close to call. Whomever stays frosty for their performance may be the edge. They both need to see if they can threaten Sun Devils. They owe themselves that much to give it a go. Watched the DCI video for Gold and CV. Big issue for CV is whether they can fill the 2ish horn holes ASAP. A lot of their drill uses blocks and the holes are a distraction. The question for CV will be where they relate to Bush and C2. Scores, I won't make a solid guess. What they need and what they get might be two different numbers. that's up to them and how they do. Gold also has to throw down a strong, hard number if they want to be in good shape at Prelims. They need to try to attempt to extend beyond Kilties and Sun. No fooling around for them, no margin for error. Sun Devils need to see if they can get close to White Sabres. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The show is really critical for every competitor. It should prove a very good contest for the fans.
Dan Detweiler
Come on guys...really? The three holes we had in the Dome have been full for months. People do get sick from time to time. If that's our biggest problem then it is a total non issue. Can't wait for next weekend. Couldn't be more proud of our product. Hope everyone enjoys the show!
camel lips
Douglasville Ga. Aug.17,2013 OPEN CLASS 1.81.50--------Corps Vets ??? You have less faith in the southern judging system than I do and that is saying something. 81.50 is a ridiculously low prediction IMHO. Even if the judges phone this one in from Mars they cannot justify that stupid of a number. Lets not forget CV had a 79.60 on July 13th in Hornell Ny when they went to the NE which tied them with C2, 3 Points behind Empire and a solid 8 point ahead of Bushwackers. What your saying is that in over a month they have only improved 1.9 points when the rest of the field has improved by 8 + Points over the period ???? CV probably "should" (I use should loosely) be getting somewhere in the "88ish" neighbor hood this weekend but with the crazy mind numbing number the crack pipe DCI judges gave them in the dome I expect that number to be much lower. I am expecting somewhere in the 85 +/- a point in either direction this weekend for CV. Edited August 12, 2013 by camel lips
BigW
Come on guys...really? The three holes we had in the Dome have been full for months. People do get sick from time to time. If that's our biggest problem then it is a total non issue. Can't wait for next weekend. Couldn't be more proud of our product. Hope everyone enjoys the show! The point is, Dan, that they were not full for that performance. Yes, people get sick. And the holes were obvious on the video. I realize that you can declare the holes, etc. of necessary, but they were distracting. When people judge, they judge by what is there or in this case, not there. Not by what should be there, and excuse it or imagine a whole lot and fill in the blanks and ignore it. Maybe cruel- but that's the way it is. You know that. I also realize it's harder to fill holes in emergencies now as well. So, Dan, yes... really. When you set up at least 2 solid blocks on the field and there are holes in the middle and edges, it's distracting. Sorry if it irritates you. Hopefully the situation will be dealt with when it counts.
Dan Detweiler
Thanks for your kind assesment BigW. Look forward to seeing everyone in Annapolis in a few weeks. If you're in the area, come on out and see all the great southern drum corps in Douglasville next weekend. Best of luck to all in their efforts moving forward. So very proud to wear the star.
