xandandl
How does one deflate a flag? Breathe in! Actually, CC, in the beginnings of WGI & DCI and maybe still, to deflate the flag was a practice term meaning to not let the flag sail because the next move depended on grabbing part of the flag silk/material or the way the pole would be spun close relative to the torso of the guard member. Lingo and terms change, sometimes without context. I remember Peggy Twiggs telling April Gilligan Martinez and me about meeting a young member at a clinic. When Peggy was introduced, the member said, "Oh, we have a spin called Peggy." PT chuckled as the young guardster had not a clue that the move had been named after the lady she just met when that lady taught 27th, Cadets, and others. Times change.
