xandandl
WGI is reporting the death today of their first director, Lynn Lindstrom. Drum Corps enthusiasts will also remember her and her husband George as Directors of the Memphis Blues Brass Band (MB3) moving us to our feet with Elvis' music played in company front pushing to the stands. "Can't Help Falling in Love" MB3 was a top-20 DCI corps from 1980-1983. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk2tlBAkDJs Besides directing WGI from their Colorado home, she was so pivotal from 1985 on in the Drums Across the Rockies series which originally consisted of several DCI shows up and down Colorado and culminating in the still existing DATR within Denver's pro-football stadium. For many years she and her husband consulted and helped with the Denver Blue Knights. http://ascendperform...lynn-lindstrom/ Always forthright in her views but competent and expansive in her administrative duties, her commitments to the MMs and the activity have made memories for hundreds of thousands. At WGI alone, she was there for a quarter of a century. The Lindstroms work with the Blue Knights stretches from 1983 until her current cancer struggles. To her family, my condolences and also thanks for allowing us all to benefit from her love of kids and the activity. We are better for it because of her efforts. http://www.wgi.org/news/01272016-WGI-Mourns-the-Passing-of-Lynn-Lindstrom.html http://www.drumcorpsworld.com/?p=1152 Edited January 27, 2016 by xandandl
