Plus the corps stay at different locations as to not make that feasible. that kind of volume is quite an incentive for a catering company. Let them figure out the logistics. Everyone goes on at a different time, arrives to their housing at different times of night, and rehearses at different times. You then have to find housing for all the groups close together to feed them all within a reasonable time. That's never easy. Especially in places where bridges have been burnt with schools long ago. Plus by having volunteers cook it, you don't have to pay overhead on someone else preparing food.
