FTNK
There was mention in the SCV thread that the System Blue horns and drums have been focusing on light weight to make today's shows less physically taxing. I think this is a really important factor that is overlooked, especially since props are now de rigeur in DCI. For example, one of the issues IMHO in Cadets 2006 was that all the props were steel and wood. They must have been 50 pounds easily. We had to haul them onto the rehearsal field, from the field onto the trucks, onto the field for the show and off again. By show time we were gassed from moving them all over. So, does anyone know of clever design/construction to reduce the weight of props and equipment?
MikeN
My corps' props (though not on the field yet - coming soon) are hollow, and disassemble. Jury's still out on SysBlu horns, I think. Lighter doesn't always mean better. Mike
drummer5485
2006 Cadets had way more problems than heavy props.
