kevingamin
Trumpet soloist returns for the end of the ballad. Tubas are right in front of me and are projecting their sound like their lives depend on it.
kevingamin
Into the closer, The Wind River by Joseph Curiale. After a majestic opening statement, the tempo kicks up. Trumpets have a feature on the left side of the field, interspersed with.sabers.
kevingamin
After a drum interlude, the mellos have their own feature midfield. There’s only four of them, but they all wail.
kevingamin
Trumpet trio up front along with another to hit a final note. Great show, Tradition!
kevingamin
Rogues Hollow Regiment is back and doing their full SoundSport field show. Low brass really has a great sound, and they are right in front of me. Five tubas laying down a thick bass line on Passacaglia and Fugue. Nice jam session by the corps as well. kevingamin
Small brass ensemble with trap set up front. One of them is one of the DMs and is on trombone.
kevingamin
Ahh, I see. The DMs are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Jive, respectively. Second movement is Since I Fell For You, 1988 BD closer. Since it’s not RHR’s closer, I’m guessing no curtain call.
kevingamin
Trap set kicks off the third movement before the tubas play the opening melody of Johnny One Note. Split parts with only 5 tubas! I’m impressed.
kevingamin
Time for some down and dirty from the horns, including a ripping trombone solo, before going into the closing section of Johnny One Note.
kevingamin
RHR pulls an SCV with a mello sustain to close out this section of the show.
