I can’t tell you how many trumpets took up that last note, but it was more than one and it was drum corps in a nutshell.

St. Joe’s is going old school with the percussion. Mylar heads AND on slings, though under their uniform jackets.

Color presentation right off the bat, or the line, if you will.

St. Joe’s also features a flag line, which they have set up on the right side of the stage so they are visible.

Miserlou, complete with a soprano soloist who performs with great flourish.

Single tenor line breaks out some tambourines and timbales for a quick drum break mid song.

Corps just turned to face back stage. Stars and Stripes, so this is the ACTUAL color pre. Honor guard is marking time before moving into position to present the colors center stage.

Whoever’s on rifle in the honor guard is still marking time and arm swinging. That’s hard core.

Mellos step out and open the next song, Bandstand Boogie with an In The Mood intro. Crowd is clapping along and at least one person in the audience is moving with the music in his seat.
