ffernbus3 Posted September 27, 2003 Share Posted September 27, 2003 An old friend of mine, Jim Good, drum major for 71 Lynwood Diplomats and 72 Anaheim Kingsmen, finally checked in after 30 years. I had said something like "Well, at least you got the championship ring." His response was "What ring? I never got one!" As a member of the first DCI championship corps, shouldn't he be entitled to one? And if so...how does he get his? BTW: Jim has consented, under threat of exposing all his dirty secrets from The Lynwood Diplomat days.....well, not true, his wife of 22 years marched Dips color guard, so she KNOWS! most of them....anyway, Jim has just been named drum major of the FRESNO FERNS, and we are lucky to have a person of his talent and esprit de corps back in the fold. I think the option is there to purchase The Ring for the previous years, as long as you are verified to have marched with the winning corps. he should contact DCI directly.
