Smudge
"Cadets and Crossmen Brass, and Percussion Instrument Sale Friday October 10, 2003 By: Christine Higgins A big sale on all brass and Pit Percussion instruments used by the Cadets and the Crossmen is underway at YEA! " What will they buy instead?
FakeFlam
I doubt they'll buy anything, but I suspect they'll be using Yamaha's latest and greatest. The sponsorship deals for the elite programs are quite impressive.
CrownMcNeal
Agreed. New drums on the way. Many corps have sponsorship deals like this and get new equipment for free. I may be wrong but I think Yamaha's deal is new equipment every two years. But now that I think about it, those drums were new this year so maybe not...I don't know. Anyway, yeah sponsorships are sweet deals.
10ers4life
yeah the battery this year was new, the drums go back to Yamaha after 2 seasons, and Yamaha sells them through dealers. but i think the pit equipment and brass the corps buy, which is why they sell them after a year or 2. chhhhrpow
The Cadets are getting drums every year now. So they are selling the drums. The Cadets actually have to buy all of their pit equipment at price and they're selling that stuff as well.
CrownMcNeal
I knew that they had to buy horns but I didn't know about pit stuff. If I remember correctly, we got ours free this year. Well it came with the battery equipment so I'm assuming it was.
jlhiatt
I guess their deal with Yamaha is better than the one they had with Pearl. They were with Pearl for the longest time and then they went with Yamaha.
CrownMcNeal
Well it was a YEA deal. It might have been better. Our deal with pearl is great.
10ers4life
from the ppl i know, Cadets deal with Yamaha is marching drums every 2 years, same as everybody elses with Yamaha, and actually they are not selling the battery. just pit and latin percussion. the reason why they droped Pearl was to get a full sponsorship with Yamaha, drums, mallets, horns, for all YEA corps. Pearl doesn't make horns (they do make flutes though) so the sponsorship was dropped after 2000.
