  1. Remo Tenduras are great. We played them all summer. Awesome heads.
  2. BlackMax came out before WhiteMax did. i realize that, but i wasn't talking about black max. white max and black max have more differences than just their color. there's different materials in the heads themselves. and i like the white max better. what i meant is that you can get a white max head, but have it be a black color. it's different than a black max. Okay. That's not what remo says...
  3. We used them this summer. They rock. Especially tuned a little bit lower. They sound and feel great.
  4. BlackMax came out before WhiteMax did.
  5. 95 definitely is a great year. 88 is pretty sweet. I recieved it by accident after buying 99 and ended up keeping it.
  6. It sounds to me like you cranked the absolute balls off those heads otherwise they would pull so easily. Falams are strong. Max heads were actually designed for lower tension so it's interesting to me that they held up better under a lot of tension. Perhaps you could elaborate a little...
  7. The Cadets are somewhat repetitive. The snare lick hasn't changed much in three years...
  8. That's just rediculus. That's not helping anything. It's just making you hurt so much that you can't play your show.
  9. Sometimes it helps to listen to just the right or left channel. If the line is way out near the end zone there is no way their sound is getting to both of the mics at the same time so it sounds dirty even if it's not. This is especially noticable in most of the 90's recordings. It's really hard to tell if it's clean. I also think this has to do with the controversy surrounding the big BD '95 roll.
  10. Vic isn't perfect, true. The only way to really get a true pair is to match 'em yourself. One of the dudes I marched with this summer liked the innovative tenor sticks with traditional grip. interesting, yeah? Never tried the pooles and I only know from the Moores because I marched them in '02. Ever try the laminated delucia-like Moores? They're pretty sweet. Heavy as balls. Sort of like delucias...
  11. Hmmm... Maybe a Marathon rebirth of sorts? Like the Tendura? Interesting...
